Heat Shielding

Post by Tj. »

Does anyone know if and where you can buy the alluminium heat shielding like what's used on modern cars? I'm getting an exhaust fitted soon and the extractors are going to run close to the steering box and seeing as I've finally tracked down a good one, I don't want to stuff it by cooking it.

Alternatively, will the thin alluminium sheeting you can buy from bunnings do the same job? it'd probably work out cheaper.

Repco and bursons sell the heat shield material. Acl make it you just cut it to what ever size shape you need. Same stuff they use in modern cars.
