For rego'd vehicles you need a beach pass (bought from the local servo at Lavis Lane).
For unrego'd vehicles you need beach rego. It covers you for a green slip and a small admin fee. The last price I heard was about $220 (this is old though, very old). The rego for everyone falls on the same date/month, so all the inspectors have to look for is a colour on your label. So find out when that date is, so you get rego for 12 months instead of 1 (same price). Ring up Port Stephens Council, they will be able to fill you in on the details.

NOTE: You have to be over 16 years old to ride/drive on the beach.

Hope this is what you were after?

Dave is right there.
You can even take un regoed Buggies etc

Not sure on prices etc.

And you can always camp on the beach??
Or call Stockton caravan Park.

They might have Cabins, or Camping sites.
Only about 5-10 mins from Lavis lane beach entrance.
And about 25mins from the centre of Newcastle, if you wanted to head in at night and check out the local Wildlife....
I suggest The Brewery :P

I'm not sure if Lavis Lane is open ATM? Ring/contact Port Stephens Council they will be able to fill you in on all the details, and probably help you accommodation info too.
