Post by TVM006 »

I myself am very shocked.

My GK GSR dragged my mates Toyota AE86 Sprinter last night.
Both Stock.

I LOST!?

2/2 Sprinter won...

Now my mate is all cocky
This hurts me so much! lol

ADM (SOHC carby 4AC) or JDM (4AGE) 86?
The sprinter will also be heaps lighter, it'll have a shorter diff ratio, if it's 4AGE powered it'll have at least 10kw on you etc etc
Basically, I'm not surprised a stock 86 beat you, the Siggy's are underpowered and pretty tubby by comparison lol

Hmm yeh i guess i just didnt know much about them.

looks like some mods will be needed so that next time Siggy comes out on top!

I mean take off, Siggy was quicker... but revving second the sprinter cained me!

EFI and engine conversions need engineering so unfortunately neither are legal on your P's :(
Do a 32/36, cam, extractors, exhaust and maybe a 2L head, decent clutch, lowered springs (make sure they're decent single-rate springs, not progressive-rate shit like Kings that will sag after a couple of months), decent shocks, swaybars, new suspension bushes, decent tyres (Option 1 are doing 195/50/15 Federal 595RS-R's for $140 a corner atm) etc.
Then look at lightening the car ie basic sound system (a head deck and a pair of 6x9's will do), clean out all the rubbish, find a 4x114.3 space saver spare, strip out all the sound deadening etc
Should make for a fun P-plate legal car :)

2l heads are the same as 2.6 astron 1 heads, the only difference is the cam..

really? the two I've got (one's off my GE Scorpion, the other's off an import Astron 80 motor) look slightly smaller in the comp chamber
Maybe the import heads were different to the local ones?
So maybe not a 2L head then :P

Not really surprised, the astrons are fairly constipated from factory  (which is good... means it's easy to get more out of them lol)

and... lol. i would not spend that much on a down draught for an astron.
how about:
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Weber-Carby-and- ... 4152ed3b12
Then grab a redline adapter (and air filter) from your local sprints, autopro what ever floats your boat.

Then it's your call how carried away you get.
All the best with it.
