hmm is that an original convertible? i remember vaguely reading that 200 cars were sent to "sun-something" to be converted into convertibles... if i remember correctly, the last original one sold for 25 grand... but i may be thinking of something else

i meant to imply that the 200 cars WERE the original convertibles... seeing as it was sanctioned by chrysler... not after sales

Sunchaser is what you were thinking of.
Sunchaser did a few Scorpion and Celica convertibles back in the day, they then moved onto "pop top" hiace vans and now do very top end boats.
Don't know if they ever did the larger cars, I guess they would have as the Scop's and Celica's didn't sell as they were crazy expensive. Dearer than a BMW Conv. at the time
This is a Sun Downer................ also very cool.

You could also get a Transit Sundowner but I can't find any good pics.

yep there are NO Chrysler Aust. "authorised" Vailant convertables, these things have little resale MUCH less than the car would have had with its roof intact, if anyone has different non internet bulls&^t based info post it up.

Yep, Esky Pano's look mad done up.
I went looking for one years ago. I ended up finding my wagon instead. Worse things could have happened.
