4G52 Oil Pressure Dramas!!!!

Post by MyToyGE »

Hey guys. I just put in a re-coed head and put another oil pump in my 4G52.

everything was going good until it came time to start her up when I realized I'm not getting oil pressure.
I have tried squirting oil in through the hole in the block where the oil pressure sender goes to try "Prime" the oil pump
but with no luck.

any other ideas???

Get some:

Oil
A long bit of hose
A straight brass fitting (1/8 NPT I think) to screw into the pressure sender hole
2 cable clamps to suit the hose
An air-compressor.

1. Remove the pressure sender and screw the straight fitting into the pressure sender hole.
2. Fill up the hose with oil.
3. Clamp one end of the hose to the straight fitting, the other to the air gun.
4. Apply a little bit of pressure to the hose for about 1-minute.
5. Replace the pressure sender.
6. Start the engine...

Cheers.

Get Oil into the oil pressure sender hole and at the same time wind the motor over backwards to get the oil into the pump and pickup from the sump.

You could wind it forward untill the cows come home 8-)
