Re: heat proof for floor pans
You would use a heat shield between exhaust and body, of just put up with warm feet thats what i do (3" dump and wastegate pipe that joins up after the gearbox).
That tacky stuff is just for deadning noise not heat.

Re: heat proof for floor pans
well whats some modern noise deadener...
and dude my carpet is out atm and my floor mat got burnt... so yeah i rekon it would be a good idea to get something done...
it gets hot right near the transmission and the clutch.

3mm thick and you put it in place and set it with a heat gun
you should be able to buy this from any good crash supplies

It would also be beneficial to wrap the exhaust in that heat wrap stuff too. Doing this keeps the heat in, which is said to keep the gas volume expanded and help draw gas away from the engine/turbo. I have to do it, the shoe of my dyno tuner melted to the floor after a few hours on the dyno. The gas reaches 500C inside the exhaust just out from the turbo

while it works great at keeping gas velocity high it is also great for absorbing any moisture that may be around whilst the car is not in use, eventually rusting out your system

Re: heat proof for floor pans
Yeah that's a good point for thise who leave their car outside. THe race fuel kills my exhaust too, It would last minutes.

+1 for the heat gun method. I used a 1 inch paint scraper too. I couldn't get my hands on the dry ice.

Re: heat proof for floor pans
man get the best gloves that you can ,rug up and pour it on
BUT BE WARNED DONT GET IT ON YOU AS YOU WILL GET FROST BITE
when dry ice comes in contact with your floor it will react violently
hence the rug up where safety glasses and face shield
ps you dont pour shit loads on either little by little
cheers stealth
