Bonnet vents to reduce temps

Is there anyone that has 1st hand experience with installing aftermarket vents in the bonnet to allow hot engine bay air to escape??
From my searched they should be fitted a bit behind the radiator line and that raising the rear of the bonnet to allow air to escape is a no no as that is a hi pressure area.

Anyone out there with practical experience that can share their results would be appreciated

Jacking the rear of the bonnet can cause swirl BUT are you going quick enough for that to be an issue?
Do you need cold air in or hot air out??

The car is a 390 ATW hp Starion and am trying to reduce under bonnet temps which will help lower inlet manifold temps as well = more power

160+ on the track
To reduce engine bay heat one needs to get cool air in and hot air out and logic tells me that if I can get the hot air out then there will be more cool air flowing in thru the IC and radiator which will be great.
