Alternator for GC galant

So i wanna put a different alternator into the galant as the one in it atm isnt keeping up with my audio equipment and i am thinking of running a secondary battery so need something with alot of amps i think my stock one is pumping out 35Amps i think so id like to double or triple that, ive been told GK-GN sigma alternators are good and bout 85amp but when i looked them up for sale they were also 35 amps id like 100 amp alternator please help :P

Give your local auto electrician a call.Bosch make a great alternator.

I second that... you can always get something from an auto sparky. Mine's been upgraded to a 55A unit, which is a nice improvement on the original, but you can of course go much bigger, depending on what you're planning on running. It's worthwhile thinking about the kind of load you want to pull (and think about everything running at once, stuff like thermo fan, ignition electronics (if you have power tranies, etc), lights, high-beams, and obviously stereo gear. Go a bit over what you expect your load to be, but there's also no sense in going too nuts :)

Either way, it should be a relatively easy process. And as Ozdusterdave says, Bosch do make nice gear :)

made a call to auto elects and they all want me to bring down the car which is a pain for me and they wouldnt give me a price haha

Classic! I guess they don't want to commit to anything before seeing what they're up against. Really, it's just a matter of giving them the alternator (so they can match up the casing, etc), and telling them the amperage you want. If you can't get the car to them, they should be able to work with that.

I vaguely remember something in the vicinity of a couple of hundred, but that was years ago, and my memory is very hazy! Anyone else have a more up-to-date idea?

So if i was to get a magna alternator how many amps would it be and whats the model and stuff i need if i went to pick n payless to get one ?
