Got the 68 Colt

Gday ive finally picked up the Colt but had a shit load of dramas in the process, i blew up my road car 750 klm from home so my old man came to save me and stuffed his car 400 klm from home. Anyway got the race car home so thats whats important lol. I was just wanting to know does the a82 or ke44 have any thing to do with the super sport? If not what do these mean? Also where on the 4g32 would i find the engine number im wanting to see if its a gs motor. Thanks any help would be great..

i think the dohc 4g63 had the engine number behind the exhaust manifold towards the front of the motor just under where it bolts to the head not too sure it's been a while since i had a 4g63

Is it a 4g32 (1598cc) or a 4g63 (2 litre)?
To start of, check what number is on the end of the cam. If it's a 4g32 chain drive it should have a no. 2 stamped on the end for the GS, though being a race car it may have a 4 or a 5 which is the much sort after factory race cams.

As far I'm aware there isn't any real markings on the engine block to tell if it's a GS motor or not, but I could be incorrect there.
