Scorpion OR GB Galant

Post by lchilds82 »

Hey i have found an auto Scorpion for sale so my question is what would be the easier conversion( vr4 4g63t), the GB galant or the auto Scorpion considering the scorpion would have the baby904 already in it already and brakes would be better then the GB's. im just thinking that it would be an easier option although it would weigh more then the GB by a bit. Any feed back, does anyone know of any conversion like this into a scorpion?

it'll be easier to do the conversion on the scorp cos youve got more room under the bonnet and youve got 4 wheel discs already

Scorpion would be easier room wise but the Galant would be faster and cooler. Either way you still have the same wiring, exhaust and cooling issues to solve.
Strip the Scorp of all its good bits and use them in the Galant

The scorp would be easier to fabricate the exhaust system due to more space between the engine and the steering box and you wouldn't have to mess about with the heater piping fowling with the CAS. You also have the stronger diff if it is a 10 bolt diff. I would dare say in the end it would end up being cheaper if the galant and scorp are in equivalent condition.

But if you want style, speed, handling and cheaper availability of rims and good tyres combinations then i would go with the galant.

Scorpion, it's bigger therefore has more room to mess around with stuff. And you won't have people coming up saying "Nice 1600, but you should have gone SR20" all the time :P

If it was an early Scorpion I would say go for it, but the newer ones have big square ugly tail lights and dashboard.
Go the Gally :D

Found this though :wut:

It's a GN running a small block 318 Hemi. 2.6 x 2 = 5.2

Ill agree with the others the Scorp would save you alot of mucking around as far as Brakes and Suspension.
Not to mention a heavier stronger body.

Big fan of the GB but!

If you are going to stick with the GB, go see your local Engineer, and see what they have to say about it before you sink bulk $$

But do yourself a favour and section the firewall, and even the Transmission tunnel back to allow for the new motor/gearbox.
But check with Engineer first.

Scorp will be easier and a better car to drive, better front end and rear end and brakes to begin with.

Or buy a scorp an the gb an put all the scorp stuff in the gb(front end, diff/box) then do conversion, lots more work but way cooler :D

But really the sensible option is the scorp.
