Ok, im not sure if this is the right section to be posting this, but i'm hoping newbies can get away with it.
I'm buying a GJ scorpion off a mate (13bsigma) and he's put the engine, gearbox and all the like in... except for the fuel pump. One problem is, he's moved up to Queensland till at least April. This then means that the task of getting the car ready for blue slipping is left into the not-so-capable hands of an inexperienced scorpion admirer such as myself. Going alog the lines of "learn by doing"...
Since the engine and gearbox was put in by someone other than me, it works! but the 12V electronic fuel pump is where i've hit a wall... after testing the fuel pump over the battery found that it works and clicks away quite nicely. Cue the incoming fuel line. Check, that works too! So far so good! But wait! what's that? it's stopped clicking! hmm?! disconnect & reconnect and try again... yupp it's clicking again! lets now test it on the points im going to connect it to... that's clicking there too- wait i spoke too soon, it's stopped again. it seems that it's pumping only when it feels like it.
After connecting the fuel lines up and the fuel pump to the appropriate places (positive on positive side of the coil and negative bolted to the chassis- which has worked when testing), it is very selective for when it wants to pump... Please, anyone with ANY advice on this problem, PLEASE share! i'm stumped.
Thank you for reading and for any help!!!
