1991 triton and efi 4g54 motor

Post by 1991triton »

Hi I have a 1991 triton 2.6L petrol and a magna with a EFI 4g54 motor. I wan to take the motor out of the magna and put it in my triton but I wasn't sure. I was looking around and it looks like it will inter change. Just wanting to know if it will or not.

NO, a Magna engine won't swap directly into a Triton.
Tritons are wide block and all magnas are narrow block (gearbox/bell-housing), along with the sump and front timing cover being a different size as well.
The water pump for rear wheel drives are on the front timing cover, but on the magna, it is run from the back of the block.
The rear water port in the magna heads are larger, therefore you need to modify your existing carby manifold, unless you are planning to make the Triton EFI, using the Magna manifold.

Cheers.
