Re: Where can I get a clutch cable- URGENT!
I have used L200 cables from Mitsubishi in the past with no issues if you can't find one for your Galant.

Re: Random Galant Pictures (ADD HERE)
As a guide the wheels in these photos are; Rear 15x7.5 -22 (205/50R15), Front 15x7.0 -6 (195/50R15). The front guards are from a GSR and hence are cut from factory, the rears arches are cut to be similar to factory and the flares are GSR factory as well :D . My guess is that the Top Secret GTO is us...

Re: 4g63t conversion into my 1973 gto
First question is what 4g63t; Starion (sohc wideblock), fwd Sigma (sohc narrowblock) or dohc (narrowblock)? If its a Starion engine use the Starion gearbox, but use the shorter L200 extension housing so the gear leaver comes up in the correct position. Also don't forget to grab the drive shaft for t...

vr4galant who are you asking? If you are asking me, I didn't get it from kiggly racing directly, but through a reseller that was conveniently located while I was up in the US at the end of last year. If you are looking for someone other than kiggly racing to get one try jayracing (http://www.jayraci...

Re: 4g63 CAS relocation
To use the factory computer and eliminate the rear sensor you need the standard Kiggly Racing 6-Bolt Crank Trigger Sensor as well as the RVR front cam angle sensor. The original purpose of the Kiggly Racing 6-Bolt Crank Trigger Sensor was to allow the use of a 6bolt engine in a 7bolt car without hav...

Re: harmonic balancers
The harmonic balancer is attached to the crank and is there to dampen torsional vibrations in the crank primarily caused by the cylinder firing. At certain engine speeds torsional resonance can occur and the harmonic balancer is there to minimise the amplitude of the resonance and hence reduce the m...

I also had a similar issue with the Jayracing front exit and I am using a rwd waterpump. It was an easy fix with welder.

Re: Our 1975 GC Hardtop (pic heavy and epic read!)
If you are running a rwd water pump you shouldn't be having any issues unless your extractors are really huge. See the photo below on how it looks using the factory rwd water pump/metal return pipe and oil filter housing. For those wondering this is a RVR head with the cam angle sensor on the front ...

No major parts are common between 4G6x and 4G9x engines eg manifolds, camshafts, pistons, cranks etc are not interchangeable. See http://classiccolt.forumcircle.com/viewtopic.php?t=877 (need to be a member to see) or http://www.mivec.co.nz/forums/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=7514 which have info on a 4g...

Re: Universal radiator hoses.
The simple answer is to bend a piece of wire that follows the path you want to follow and take it into supercheap etc and find one that matches. If you're using a rwd water pump simply use a Starion bottom hose Mackay part # CH1541.

It move to http://www.galantgto.net/ when infoseek closed down their web hoisting. Webgalant has also change it's url to http://webgalant.web.fc2.com/ for the same reason.

Re: Toyota 4AGE 20V throttle bodies
The engine is a dohc 6bolt block, amg high compression pistons, with either an rvr head (front cam angle sensor) or a 4g61 head (high compression). Initially with an evo 4 inlet manifold, but the long term plan is to go quads. I assume the candy apple red GTO you are referring to is the one in this ...

Re: Toyota 4AGE 20V throttle bodies
@Rally_2.6LC, Thanks. This setup was to go onto a gto, but I decided to keep that one stock as it is too original and build another gto with a na dohc 4g63. I was going to run them with a Link g4 storm, which is now going to run the 4g63. The adapter is a casting that contains the injector bosses an...

Re: Toyota 4AGE 20V throttle bodies
If you had Silvertop bodies I'd suggest you do something like below, however, the distorted exit of the blacktops wont match the adapters. The adapter, with the silvertops are the same length as webers. I got these a few years ago and I can't remember the cost, but I got them from http://www.hitechm...

I have set of these wheels 5.5 x 14 with an offset of around +20. Kempys use to be good in the late 80s early 90s, but they are now just another importer of used/new 90+ JDM parts. Any time I've been in there since about 95 they have not been very helpful for pre 80s parts. They also moved from they...

Re: 4G63 clearance issues.
See below for photos of the difference in the gearboxes. The shorter 5sp is out of the 76 GTO and a 4G63 bolts up fine using standard gearbox mount position, but the CAS will hit the firewall (in a GTO). The head is close to the firewall, but there is around 10mm clearance. The longer gearbox is a J...

Re: 4G63 clearance issues.
The gearbox you are using most likely has the extension housing that places the gear stick around 50mm (edit: 120mm) further back than the original Galant gearbox. The gearbox would work fine in a Sigma but not in an early Galant. You will need to change the extension housing for it to fit or find a...

The 66mm mains are also on pre 78 Astrons such as; the Astron80 in the late 75 on GTOs , the balanceshaft-less 4g52 in earlier GTOs and the balanceshaft-less 4g51 in the 1850 coupe (a version of the GC in NZ).

Re: Bolt in RWD Engine Upgrades
I remember reading somewhere that the 4G63GS was rated at 90kW (still much better than the standard 4G63 at the time of around 77kW), but 95kW is close enough to the 4G52GS to make stuff all difference. The non-balance shaft 4G52 is still a heavy motor in comparison to a sohc 4g63.

Re: Bolt in RWD Engine Upgrades
Roger, did you mean a 4G32GS rather than a 4G52GS? I agree that the 4G63GS is a nice standard motor and easy conversion (if you find one these days). Fit a set of sidedrafts and a bigger cam and they can really wake-up. However, I doubt they had more torque and power in standard form than the origin...

For a GTO from outside to outside of the chrome trim in the corners following the curve of the window: Sides=550mm, Top=1100mm and Bottom 1405mm
I think the GTO windscreen is about 30mm shorter than the GC/GD coupe but i have never measured one to confirm.
