Re: Timing issues? Or not. Sure.
But the car feels powerless from about 3000 onwards. So what maximum revs does it get to? What I'm thinking here, if the vacuum diaphragm (for the secondaries) has been replaced with one from a single carb, then it wont open with the vacuum that is meant for a single carb (I've been there and tried...

The current line up we have is handling traffic on the forum, so there's no need for any additions atm. I appreciate history here, but we're not really looking at history, we're looking to the future. Saying that, maybe it's time for me to move on? Any possible additions would need to have commitmen...

So you are saying the mount itself has delaminated?
If so, it's more common when they are old, I've never had the problem with a new one.

The only thing I have my ballast resistor hooked up to is the fuel cut solenoid on my carbs.
I have always been of the understanding it limits voltage. The solenoids are not supposed to have anymore then 9V supply to them (by my research).

I just did the re-cap a couple of posts above. For those that don't know the build, or just want a quick catch up (I see a lot of the links to old pics aren't working anymore). This shell started life as a 1.6 auto with non boosted brakes. I have a donor car that I am pulling everything I need to up...

Re: 75wagon's GD sedan, now wagon project...
My biggest stumbling block with this build so far is what to do with the interior? I can't stand the brown. I do have tidy cream door trims in the donor wagon, but the rear seat is not usable (you'd have to see it). I have the Electric Recaro's that need retrimming for the front, so dead minimum I n...

I've been to time consumed with other interests in the last year or so, but the time has come that I need another car (My daughter will be getting her P's soon and is starting full time study). I figure it makes more sense to get this car done then what it does to buy a cheap car and fix it up. This...

Re: Galant Wagon project
'Easiest' to do is put an Astron in it. I'm not sure about the laws in Qld, but in NSW that largest legal in a Galant wagon (930kgs) is 2.7 litres N/A and 2.3 litres boosted/turbo'd. If you could pic up a 2 litre astron for the block, you can put a 2.6 crank in it and turbo it. Biggest issue with th...

That is one very tidy GC wagon.
Just curious, other then performance, what are you aiming for looks wise (colour, rims etc...)?
As for motors etc, I'll post a few links for you to look through.

Yep, I had the same thing with a local servo years ago. I bought all my fuel from there (even for my mower whipper snipper etc). I started having problems starting my small motored yard equipment, and got crap fuel economy out of my car as well (was a low mileage GE Sig at the time). I have never bo...
