So i was finally able to complete my brakes, ended up using just the Piston out of the spare caliper, both now have new seals, dust covers, freshly greased slides and a new coat of paint, cylinders in both have been honed aswell :) https://fbcdn-sphotos-b-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-frc3/t1.0-9/102741...

This is looking good Dave, you certainly have got a lot done in the space of a few days. If you lived closer you would probably have me sitting out the front frothing at the mouth for parts off of that brown wagon  With the reverse light switch wires, i come across that in my GD sedan when i co...

Yes i do know that, The piston is worse than the cylinder wall, just didnt get a picture of it, also something i didn't note is the slides were seized and it is full of rust inside :)

Re: GD Galant Brakes, other models calipers the same?

Im rebuilding mine at the moment, my L/H one was good and ive rebuilt already, but my R/H one is severely pitted on both the cylinder walls and the piston which would make it useless to rebuild.

Started on the brakes today and hit my first major roadblock, my R/H caliper is trashed, the piston and cylinder walls are badly pitted and it would be a waste to rebuild it and use it. https://fbcdn-sphotos-d-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-frc3/t1.0-9/10262187_10152066388968517_424866655742739758_n.jpg ...

How do i astron (cam timing and balance shaft removal)

Hey everyone So ive been helping a friend out with his Astron 2.6 powered galant, and we have had to go to the extent of buying a replacement bottom end after finding a few nasty cracks in the block. Now with re-assembly i have a few questions 8-) Firstly is the cam timing, i am about 99% sure we ha...

So it looks like a little bit of artistic use of an arc/mig welder can make either set of rails fit either car :) with a little bit of artistic use of a welder you can make anything fit :P also i have found GE-H sigma rails to be very close if your looking for an easy to find set of rails to modify...

Re: VGJONO's 1976 GD Galant Daily

If i wanted to yes, but i dont and i am probably going to look into the feasibility of running these on standard strut tops temporarily, i want to make new plates for the strut top so its a proper 3 bolt pattern that will bolt up to the strut tower, unlike what it is now, of which i believe only has...

Re: 4G52 into a GA galant

Need a bit of help yet again, while comparing the clutches i noticed there was a huge difference in size between the splines on the clutch that came with the 4G52 and the clutch from a 4G32, being a 4G52 it shouldnt be wideblock correct? it is from a 2x4 L200. i also found the 4G32 inspection cover ...

Re: seat rails..

Excuse the dodgy MS paint worthy diagrams but i have found GA/GB and GC/GD to be different. The GA/B ones bolt to an extrusion from either side (trans tunnel ect.) whereas the GC/D ones go to the floor where they are bolted in. http://i397.photobucket.com/albums/pp58/Jonomopars/Untitled-4_zps33822a4...
