Yet another GJ Scorp.
Bought this off my sister's boyfriend recently. '81 GJ Scorpion, 2.6 Astron II, 5spd, 2" stainless exhaust, the MOMO tiller and HKB bosskit from the blue one, pretty stock otherwise. Has new shocks, new brakes, new bushes all the way through. April rego. Needs a service, runs pretty well for 25...

Probably an early KM132 out of a GE/GH Scorpion, KM119s are 4spd.

Stock 2l jobbie, don't know about the numbers but it feels a bit "peppier" than with the original cam? Is quite happy to run to 5k now as well, started to feel a bit breathless around 4500 previously.

Re: Frankenstein's Monster- '81 Scorpion
Got the clutch, 1x facet pump/1x Bosch 070 and the fuel lines, having trouble finding a cheap (as in sub-$500, not paying any more than that for a donor car. I know, I'm a cheap bastard lol) Magna with a good motor that isn't halfway across the state though. So it's currently on the backburner. In t...

Re: Flares vs tubbed
I'm not a fan of tubbed guards on small cars at all, IMO it looks daft, so I'm going to ignore that option. Flares then. Don't go too wide, again, it'll look daft. The shape of the car doesn't suit massively wide flares, not like other, boxier cars, so unless you want to go the whole hog and make it...

Re: S13 brakes into GE
Raise it, S13 gear doesn't like being run too low. Sends the geometry too far out of whack. Anyway. People run S13 front ends in all manner of 80's Toyotas, so I don't see why you couldn't put one in a Sigma. The hardest parts would be sorting out the steering and finding a strut top to suit. You ma...

Re: L300 Lsd centre into Scorpion
Standard 1.8L 2WD manual final drive is 4.667:1, with a 185/60-14 tyre and 0.85 (ish, whatever the KM132 5th is) 5th gear ratio it'll be doing roughly 3500rpm@100km/h. Maybe look into air lockers for the front diff of a 4WD L200/L300, maybe Pajero/Triton too? Pretty sure they're the same 10-bolt cen...

Re: Tyre Widths
My Scorpion had 215/65's on factory alloys when I got it, it was an unsettlingly floaty prick of a thing to drive home. Replaced them ASAP with a set of supermarket-spec 185/60's and the floatiness and sidewall flex was cut in half, was a much better car to drive after that. My advice, leave the bul...

4cyl: Cosworth BDA/BDG. No explanation required, it just is. 6cyl: Toyota 1JZ-GTE. All the good points of the bigger 2JZ, but cheaper and without the Fast&Furious AIDS. Kicks the shit out of the RB25 in every way imaginable, and unlike the RB-series engines is actually reliable. 8cyl: Chrysler L...

Looks like a monkey made it with a hand drill, but if it ain't broke..
I reckon between me, you and Dad we could have the carb rebuilt for the price of the kit, depends on how soon you want it done though as you'd need to bring it out.

However many monthly status report. Drivetrain shit: Adjusted the clutch, works like it should now.
