As far as I am aware no.
Reading through the new legislation, it couldn't be done.

Re: my 77 galant v6
Also, i have a new set of wheels coming for the car and should be picking them up next weekend.
There are a few things i am chasing as well;
* Front door trims in the dark red colour
* Front & Rear bumpers in better condition than mine....
I will make a wanted add for those anyway

The 0 offset would be better as they would mean that the Tim would be further away from the strut and then less chance of clashes that way...

Re: 8" wide rims????? Good or bad???
I run 8's on a galant and that fits. Its all about offset.
You should be fine, just need to do some measurements.
For a while I had 9's on the rear and 8.5's on the front and had no issues....

My computer still won't let me upload pics :( . Got a fair bit done over the weekend on the old girl. Fixed up a new dash without wood grain (POV pack) and fitted up my guages etc. Removed all the paint and sound deadening from the interior except for the main floor which I need to buy dry ice for t...

Re: How much has it cost?
I hate to admit this and it might shock a few people but i'm well over the $40K mark. And that is just in the reciepts i have kept. It is insured for 16K, but i will never get that sort of money if i sold it (barely got an offer over 10K when i thought of selling at the start of the year). Never had...

Re: my 77 galant v6
No wagon purchases, and definitely no V6 powered wagons. They aren't legal anymore in Galants. Mine is the one and only V6 powered 70's Galant in NSW (possibly Aus). Well, I was trying to update this thread last night anyway but for some reason I could not upload photos. Anyway, what I was going to ...

You will only need to get engineers cert for emissions measures and possibly braking capacity.
Other than that it should be all sweet.

Welcome.
Funny thing is I've just put a set of yellow headlights into my GD's inners.
A lot of us on here are very much into the JDM style.
Good luck.

Re: Our 1975 GC Hardtop (pic heavy and epic read!)
As stated on Facebook previously; * Fix the damage * Get it painted (i like the idea of grey, but i would go down more the R32 GTR gunmetal Grey side) * Low on some Jap 14's like an SSR or Work wheel (if that suits brake wise) * Stroke the 4G63 and fit ITB's * Fit kameari GT seats (look them up if y...

Re: Seat rail ideas
What car are you talking about? What sort of seats? With my old Monza seats I just used high grade steel flat bar to use the standard mounts on the runners and the stock holes on the seats. I then bought my brides because they are the same width as standard. Just drilled 2 holes in the runners as th...

When i saw this on Instagram the other day, i was very impressed. Love the sort of style both you and your brother have. Do you guys ever run into issues with the law in reagrds to those front mounts out the front? In australia, we would be straight to the local EPA (Environmental Protection Agency)...

Re: Best motor
Fitting is snug. As most of the people who have seen my car would say, its very tight. The hardest part was the new trans tunnel to fit the V6 manual box. To get the motor in or out, it has to be done from the underside (eg. shell over the top of the motor). http://img46.imageshack.us/img46/650/2013...

Re: Best motor
In the end it comes down to whatever comes up. The only reason mine has a V6 is because a mate crashed his commodore (typical) And he offered it to me for a great price. What you need to do is create a "hit list" of engines or cars (that contain said engine) and then wait till one comes up...

Re: Best motor
Keeping it all legal is the hardest part. If it were me, i would be going lightweight motor as to not affect handling etc. CA18det 1.8 litre Nissan Turbo motor would be the easiest in turms of room in the engine bay etc These have been known to make well over 200kw. For something different, why not ...

They have a wide range of sizes and are built quite well.

Re: GC compared to GD -whats your favourite?
There's only 2 types of GD grill (mine or the Jap spec)
The hardtop was for both GC and GD.....
Maybe they failed so bad with the GC that they said there were never going back to it?
You could also find a GT grill from an American Colt?
I know a certain wagon owner that has one.....

GD front is an easy winner.
GD rear is only just ahead of GC.
