Re: Urgent help required - disc brakes

I have both the GN factory service manual and factory spare parts catalogue..but they are of no help because the GN never had rear discs as a factory option.

I would love to do something like that in my wagon. There is nothing stopping me...I have plenty of spare time. But I am a procrastinator and a gunna, sadly :(

I don't know for sure..but wouldn't a 4g54 Magna have the same flywheel as a 4g52, both being narrow block. Someone will know.

Many moons ago I bought some Early Falcon adjustable cam bolts to create an adjustable bottom control arm. Just one of the many projects that never got off the ground :(

Re: My new GH Turbo project..

Water can be used to great effect even in the old school carby turbo setups. My final setup (when running 15-18LB boost for a couple of years...before returning the whole thing back to stock) was a VN Commodore windscreen washer bottle feeding a brass fogger jet from Bunnings garden department, spra...

Re: 4G54 Timing Chain installation

You want TDC on the compression stroke. This is when the pointer on the front pulley points to TDC..and both valves for #1 cylinder are closed. TDC on the compression stroke the valves will be partially open. Once you have TDC compression stroke you need to find the marking on the dizzy for #1 cylin...

Re: Wide or Narrow (Motor or gearbox)?

Yes the Magna blocks are a bit of a bummer. They are plentiful in wrecking yards but the fact that they are all narrow block is a bit of a hurdle..then on top of that the only sump/timing cover/waterpump combination that will fit is from the GN Sigma which was only produced in ever decreasing number...

Re: Hydraulic Clutch Conversion - GN Sigma

Could be the wrong cable. I bought one from ebay that had all of the right fittings..but was about 600mm too long.

Here are the shields + add a turbo blancket and everything is sweet.

Re: Hydraulic Clutch Conversion - GN Sigma

The factory turbo heat shield seems to do a good job of protecting the cable from heat damage. You would need to chase up a box and master cylinder that was fitted to models with a hydraulic clutch from factory ...imports like a Starion and the 2.6 Pajero (minus the transfer case) from the late 80,s...

Nothing to do with Mitsubishi..but this guy strips a T5 from start to finish. The vid runs for an hour , so it must have taken a loooooong time to strip. He still has to put it all back together again . And he is the T5 expert..
