Re: 82 Sigma Turbo - Historic Rego sorted!

Ha ha, oh there is plenty of mumbo jumbo involved leeroy but I have to do that for my Colts so I figured I may as well get the Sigma done. Now if I could only find the motivation and cash to restore it! :)

82 Sigma Turbo - Historic Rego sorted!

The old girl hasn't been driven in two years and is still waiting from some TLC but the SA goverment forced my hand with the upcoming rule changes. So over the weekend I got her out the shed and successfully had her inspected and approved. Not sure how many other Sigma Turbos out there were able to ...

Dent removal in Adelaide?

Hey guys,

Anyone in Adelaide know of a good, reasonably priced Mobile Dent Removal guy? I need a dent removed from the door of My Challenger.

Cheers,

Re: SA cruise this Sunday 6th May - South

Sunday achieved exactly what I wanted it to. Was able to strecth the Siggy's legs a little ( complete with the occasional flame out the dump pipe - I thought it was running a tad rich! ) but also got to hang out with a few mates and a couple of cars. The lack of organisation is what made it fun. I k...

Tomorrow's still all good at this stage. Only a couple of cars but I'm keen to drive the Sig regardless :)

No worries Ken. It'll be pretty low key. Will probably just jump from espy to espy, then stop at the Victory Hotel for a pint :)

SA cruise this Sunday 6th May - South

Hi guys,

I'm taking the Turbo GK for a drive this Sunday. Mike's bringing his Dodge Colt along and we are meeting at the Christies Beach esplanade at 1:30pm. Will then just head south to Sellicks etc. Nothing formal and no need to keep it Mitsi, anyone is welcome to tag along if you are free.

Re: New daily 2001 Mitsi Challenger - any tips?

Thanks guys, yeah i reckon the gear oil is on my list of things to do shortly :). I'd be very surprised if the tow rating was only 1500kg - that's the same as a Magna....

Rear Discs interchangeable?

Hey guys,

I'm chasing rear discs for a GK Scorp rear end in my Sigma. I went to get the discs machined but they are undersize. Are the brake rotors from the earlier models interchangeable or do I need to get GK/GL ones? Thanks in advance :)

Re: New daily 2001 Mitsi Challenger - any tips?

Thanks mate, appreciate the info! I'll definitely keep the running gear as is - too many other projects on the go :). I'm planning on keeping this thing for ever so already started getting the servicing on track and have audited everything done so far. Today I'm getting the timing belt, tensioner, a...

Re: New daily 2001 Mitsi Challenger - any tips?

Nah Leigh, Petrol/LPG. I looked at a few Turbo Diesel cars but the right one didn't come along. Biggest obstacle I've encountered is the car is due for a Timing Belt and they do the water pump at the same time. It's gonna hurt my wallet but I guess I'll know it's all good for another 100k. Accessory...

Re: New daily 2001 Mitsi Challenger - any tips?

Thanks mate, I'll check it out! The Challenger has a tow rating of 2270kg which is ok for my 2tonne car trailer. The thing is a little too nice and I am worried about dents and scracthes! LOL. Big difference from my old commodore that I didn't care about :)

Re: New daily 2001 Mitsi Challenger - any tips?

As far as I know they are based on the Triton - same chasis and running gear. It's definitely alot smaller than the Pajero as I looked at a couple of them. So far it seems very capable but I guess I'll soon see :)

New daily 2001 Mitsi Challenger - any tips?

Hey guys, At the risk of having to sell a Kidney or a Colt to pay for it, I've just bought this 2001 Challenger: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v65/SHIFTA/IMG_0679.jpg Until I started looking at the cheap 4wd market I had no idea what a Challenger was. So far I love the car but it's already getti...

Colt 1100f article in latest Unique Cars Mag

Check out Issue 335 with the Valiant on the cover. Page 46 contains a great article on the Colts and funnily enough, the Author gets stuck into Mitsi Australia for their 30 year "Love that Car" Competition for ignoring the early heritage :)

Re: Ever lost the keys to your Sig/Galant?

Updating thread for educational and LOL purposes. Ok, so rang around, got some crazy quotes. Pulled the door skin off and took the drivers side key barrell out - success. The barrell has a 4 digit code and a "h". Rang the local guy and he said bring it straight down and for $20 I'll get a ...

Re: Ever lost the keys to your Sig/Galant?

Thanks mate, I checked the 6 digit number this morning and the locksmith I went to reckons he needs a 4 digit number with an E or H attached? He reckons it's sometimes on the drivers door barrell so I might take that out. If I can get the code he wants, he reckons $20 to make a key. If I can't he sa...

Ever lost the keys to your Sig/Galant?

Put the Tubz GK up for sale a week or so ago, moved the cars around so it was at the front of the carport, and haven't seen the keys since. I'm thinking either my young nieces, friend's young daughter, or perhaps my puppy has souveniered them as the keyring has a little LED light on it that kids alw...

Re: Would you tow a car trailer with a Magna?

Thanks mate, yeah they would be a great car but I've had to rule it out as a tow car :(. You pretty much can't get them to tow over 1500kg ( legally and safely ) whereas it turns out my VS Wagon with the upgrade kit ( HD towbar, brake upgrade, trans cooler ) is actually good for 2100kg. I'm probably ...

Yeah contacting the AJD guys is a great idea - hopefully they don't think we are trying to steal their thunder!
