Re: Non balance shaft Astrons

Early 4G51 and 52 Astrons were non-balance shafts.
The precision international site lists the 1850 for a GE sigma but I am not sure if they were balance shafted engines or not.
They do list the GE 1850 pump as the same as all 4G52 and 54 but looking at them I am not sure

Non balance shaft Astrons

Can anyone tell me if the non-balance shaft Astrons use the same water pump as the balance shaft engines?
I am having trouble finding anything to say they are different but would like some sort of confirmation before buying one.

Anyway, stealth.
I believe the late model Tritons were narrow as they used GN/Magna blocks

My efi N/A 4G54 makes 93rwkw, you should see a healthy 120+rwkw from a turbo motor on a daily tune

Stupid no edit button :@ More research suggests it could be any of the following depending on model and engine size when new. A72V, A75V, A141V, A142V, A148V, A149V Anyway, all I can find for sale in Japan at the moment is Chassis and Parts manuals, not cheap at about $200 each plus postage. Will le...

Re: Lb lancer station wagon

Awesome wagon mate. I like it with the Watanabe style wheels but looks good with the Star Shark knock offs too. I might be able to help you source some parts. Let me know what the model designation is for the wagon, should be part of the VIN or chassis number, only need the 4 digits. Should be somet...

Sigma brakes

I am pretty sure it was only the GH Sigma that was fitted with the Girlock Sigma II calipers.
Is this correct?
I am looking for a new or good second hand set and not sure what model to look under.

I am pretty sure you can source a narrow block 4G63 from Triton utes and mayne FWD Galants? But I would be looking for a narrow 4G54 if staying N/A or as Dave said, a 4G52 and fit a 54 crank and hang a hoofer off the side

Re: Galant Wagon project

I am running a narrow GN Sigma block with a Triton gearbox. As far as I can tell the Triton box is pretty much a Starion box, in narrow and with cable clutch. Problem with going wide block in a Galant is the lack of trans tunnel space, if you go Starion box you also need to convert to hydraulic clut...

Spotted

Saw a Sigma cruise past work today.
Not sure if it was a new owner collecting a project or a long term daily.
Not sure of model but was a slope nose Sigma on Helps Rd in Salisbury this afternoon.
If the owner is here looked like you scored a good project

Starter motor

So, looking at this list to suit an 8 tooth starter motor I need to ask what does the 9 tooth starter suit? My starter is really noisy, has worked for like 20,000ks but it is loud. I have 2 other 9 tooth starters in the shed that have been there so long I don't remember where I got them but am wonde...

It is actually an A122A if it was a 1850cc engine or an A123A if it was a 2000cc engine

Re: My GC Hardtop project

Nothing really happened with the 63 in the end and that was the problem. I spent 2 summers and a winter effing around and really was getting nowhere with it so ended up building the 54 up to suit what I wanted. Sold the 63 and all parts to a fellow Mitsi lover here in SA, not sure what became of it....

Re: Scorpion LSD options

I think you would be very surprised how strong a 10 bolt LSD is. But for the rarity of LS centres to suit I would agree with GB-BB4C and say go for a R31 Skyline diff. They are a Borg Warner 78 so share centres with XE-BF Fords and VB-VS Commodores (from memory) so there is a heap of aftermarket stu...
