Re: problem with carb or hydrovac?

Check your fuel line installation - it is really easy to get them mixed up from the fuel pump. If the carbs look like they're not getting fuel it will be a fuel supply problem...There can be a number of issues that will cause an engine to be difficult to start or 'dies' while it's running. Also try ...

If it's a 1.8 it'll be a 'G62B' engine. If you're still planning on injecting the GD then this will make things a little easier on you.

I had a similar wiring failure in my 1.6 Cordia. When it gave out the engine just died - you reckon I could find that one stupid broken wire? :banh:

Over 1kg lighter total in the rods and pistons and while this doesn't sound like much, this weight reduction will greatly reduce the 2nd order harmonic, which is what the silent shafts used to do. :D One kilo of metal off the rods and pistons is HUGE! Keeping it in perspective - there's only a few ...

There should be a plug that was located in the centre console for the auto shifter. I have a feeling they used the same wiring loom for auto's and manual transmission fitted vehicles. Anyone confirm that? 8-)

There's no price tag you can put on enjoyment - but you can always find a guy full of regret for giving up on something that gave them just that. Yeah, project cars are expensive pets and you will never get back what you've put into one (you might break even if you find the right buyer...) These kin...

Err, not the shining moment you were expecting but in defense of the guys on here, there are at least 3 different fuel line/pump configurations in Sigmas depending on the time of build and model (hence the request for pics ...) Dummy assembled the rods, torqued up the rod bolts, and there was 0.15mm clearance between the bearing surface and the crank journal.... :( Then I checked the bearing. FUBAR... FROM FACTORY... You 'should' be surprised but that is a common occurrence. Like all mass produced items, sometimes a few d...

I've seen how they do it and I doubt they could do the Scorpion. The way they do it is a vacuum formed shell they slip over the original existing dash pad. :\

Re: Old Dog - Wanting to learn New Tricks

Hi SimplyKen, welcome to S-G. To cut your costs you'll need to get a fwd manifold and wiring loom sent over from here in Oz and get a local guy (or maybe yourself if alloy welding is covered in your vocational skills) to swap the throttle body over to the front of the manifold. It is a pretty straig...

The wire is more than likely oxygen free braided/plaited copper (it needs to be super flexible or it would hinder the vacuum advance mechanism or just fail from continuous movement)

Re: 4G32 Mitsubishi Distributor vs. Bosch Distributor

Checking the vac advance on the distributor is the same as doing a check on the vacuum secondaries on a mikuni carby - put a hose on it, suck on the other end and see if it's holding vacuum. If you're not getting ignition advance, another cause could be the balance weight springs have snapped. When ...

I don't think the seal's gonna be any good - it will be stretched out of shape and will buckle when you try putting it back in place and screwing the carby top cover back down. Get a new(er) carby for it off a fwd Colt. It will be in much better shape than a 40 year old carby from another Galant... ...
