Re: 1983 gj super saloon
to me it looks like youve dropped the magna motor strait in without changing your temp sender to the sigma one, you will find the resistances are different and that its actually not over heating at all, swap your temp sensor with what was on the engine in the car originally and all will be good.

Re: 84GKSIG Build EFI plus more
Electric mirrors are all good and well when they're factory fitted or offered as a factory option, but what do you do when you've spent a couple hours modding 2 mirrors to form one to then find you have no where to connect them and no way to control them? you install a controller of course, nothing ...

Re: Halp meh, Oh halp meh!!
no real problem with going over spec on the voltage ( just dont go lower voltage than whats already in there ) if that little of a difference and that low of a voltage, ESR wont come into play much, as long as its temperature rating and capacitance is the same value  and of course physical...

Re: Halp meh, Oh halp meh!!
if you do choose to use de-soldering braid instead of a solder sucker, get the braid with flux, it will make your life less difficult and dosent cost that much more  shouldnt be too hard with a de-soldering tool though, braid i find is excellent for cleaning pads before using new/different...

Re: very noisy tappets 4g54
do you know if you have adjustable tappets or hydraulic tappets ? if hydraulic, you may need to change em, how many kms has the car done?
if adjustable you'll need to adjust them my guess is there solids since your not running a factory cam

Re: what ohm ballst resistor to use
not sure these days where you could go to get a new one, no harm in sourcing a second hand one from a wrecker or pulling one your self from u-pull it. i cant be of much help there with that one sadly. id say try asking an auto electrician but i can tell you now it wont be cheap.
