Re: GC Red Rufus

A112H has pretty much got it all there  What model is the Scorpion? Don't the 5 speed's from the GH (or GE) come with the short extension housing on the gearbox? I thought it was only GJ (Sigma) onwards that had the longer extension? Is it also correct that the only difference between the ...

Re: Upgrading Brake /Drive chain system

The diff housing from a Sigma will not fit into a Lancer diff housing (Lancer is 8 bolt, Sigma is 10 bolt). The whole diff housing itself wont bolt it without shortening and removing the old mounting brackets and fitting Lancer ones. If you're going to that much trouble Nissan Skyline R31 diff housi...

Superscan811 has pretty much said the same thing I'm thinking along the lines of. I was thinking auto choke adjustment and operation (for exactly the same reasons).

Yep thanks.
Just tried it. It works pretty well.
I also tried shellite (lighter fluid) I think the shellite works just that little bit quicker.

Re: My first car build

Just curious. Has anyone got a good answer on how to remove the non setting window sealant from the rear window openings? We've tried a few different solvents, but nothing that just gets it off easy (wax and grease remover, turps, kerosene, GP thinners to name just a few). I've tried google search, ...

Re: Steering Doesn't Self-center

I had a similar issue with my wagon.
How tight is your steering?
I had overtightened the steering box trying to remove freeplay.
Backing the adjuster off and changing the steering box oil fixed it all. Now I still have no freeplay, but I the steering now re-centres.

Re: Tailshaft question

Well, from that pic, I know it's a Jap box,
has Astron 2 head,
has the shorter shifter location,

What 'I' can't tell from that pic. If it's wide or narrow block.

Question is, how long has it been out in the open like that?

Re: Tailshaft question

What box will you be running? Jap wide block 5 speeds have a larger spline than that on the narrow block (just change the front spline over). If the 2.6 and 5 speed are from an early GE/GH Sigma the box will have short shifter location (same as Lancer 5 speed). If the 2.6 and 5 speed are from a late...

Orange is his favourite colour, I bet it's what he ends up running with. Saying that, anything is up for change. Budget will be the decider on most things with this build. Fact is, Ferg's doing it mostly himself. This is what's going on it the garage right now. https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.net...

No point putting twin 45's on it, twin 40's would have less of a step down in throat sizing once you choke them down to 34mm.

I know that isn't a weber chart, but the information shouldn't be too far off the mark.

Re: Manifold/exhaust advice 1300cc Galant

All of the things you are changing or have changed IMO are nothing to do with how loud it is when it drives.
I'd put everything back the way you had it, and put a more restrictive muffler on it. Cheap and simple.
