Re: Old School FTO in OZ
Hey Darren, saw your pics a while back on Classic Colt - very nice FTO  Surely there can't be many of these here?? Were the flares on it when you bought it or did you source them yourself? If so, and you don't mind me asking, where from as I'd be keen for a couple of sets. They look slightl...

Must have only been recently - I picked up some stuff from a mint GC late in 09'.
Shame really, they had a few goodies lying quietly there

Re: LA lancer engine crossmember in gakant?
Thanks for the pics, how many scrutineers have picked it as non-standard? If you didn't know Galants, you'd figure it was 'factory' Nice work.

Re: She's baaack!
Thanks.
Pretty happy to get her back but she'll need a bit of work. Not in a hurry though, as I'm a fussy bugger. I'd rather take my time and be happy with the end result.
Hope everything's working out for you up north?
Cheers, S

Re: LA lancer engine crossmember in gakant?
Hey Mark, you just saved me a heap of work for my GC rally car, thanks! 8-) It already has adjustable strut tops and adjustable, custom Bilstein legs so I might have to play around with it a bit for the correct Camber, but no big deal really. I was about to do the cut-and-shut on a Sigma crossmember...

Re: Top gear
It's a pity, they had a real opportunity to put a different spin on a great show, but succeeded only in doing a low rate copy - a shame really. Not that their target audience will realise that....... ;)

Re: Top gear
Top gear Aus?
It's an insult to the original, tasteless and squarely aimed at entertaining the mindless bogan hords. A waste of airtime.
Edit to add: I feel sorry for James Morrison, he's a nice bloke who's done himself no favours by being involved with this second rate attempt.

No worries, anything that's fun, loud and sideways! No-one in Victoria wants 2 litre (or 2.6) GC's

Re: Our 1975 GC Hardtop (pic heavy and epic read!)
Interesting, we're hearing more about the AMSAG stuff down here as there are a few people (myself included ) who want to run more relaxed events and cars with some more 'freedoms'. Once the GC coupe of mine is finished, might have to venture north o' the border for the odd event.

Fantastic, love the colour!
Nice to see another Coupe being well loved (and don't apologise for the long thread ) - most here love reading stuff like that!
Obviously a bit of a 'rally' connection with the family perhaps? (stickers on the fridge )

Re: She's baaack!
He had the inlet and webers off it when I saw it on his engine stand and the ports were the biggest I've ever seen on a 32' (should've taken a pic :( ) he reckons the motor owes him a small fortune. Yeah, they're kind of fun, particularly good in LA's but when the bodyshells start getting heavier th...

Yeah, really looking forward to tidying her up. The fellow who I bought her back from (top bloke too btw) has another really nice one, in fully original trim including the JDM front wing mirrors  And before anyone asks (Kodos :P ) - it's definitely NOT for sale :( Oh, he's a bit of a 4G32 f...

Re: She's baaack!
Thanks Kodos, was a real pity to let that blue one go recently, but unfortunately finances were urgently needed elsewhere. Am pretty happy to have this one back though, as there is a fair bit of personal history there.

She's baaack!
After 8 years, I've bought back my old GTO :o :D She's unfortunately a little worse-for-wear in the body and there's engine 'issues' - but nothing that can't be fixed easily enough with a bit of elbow grease. Probably do one or two Historic rallies later this year as her 'swansong' and she'll be str...
