Re: ASTRON FUEL RAIL Q,s
The fuel pressure regulator shouldn't be a problem at all with boost. You might be better off getting a tr-ts regulator if you can as they run at a higher pressure of 3.3 bar where the tn-tp operates at only 2.5 bar. You would have to confirm it will fit the different fuel rail though. I wasn't able...

Re: difficult job ??
Some info for when your finances get a little better. It's not much more difficult then a 4g54 swap apart from having to massage the firewall to fit the crank angle sensor and use some 4g63 RWD engine mounts found in Starions or L200 Utes. Swap the throttle body ends and some custom extractors. An a...

Re: GH Sigma + 4g63T SOHC Stroker + GT3076r = ???
Nice work there. I would hate to see the bills for this set up. I think the only thing that would make this build up better would be if you were to go twin cam. But the fact that you already have the inlet and exhaust manifolds to suit the SOHC i can see why you would stick with this set up. And wit...

Re: Who likes Datsuns???
Yeah i've got a mate who imported one of those 2 door 510's from japan about a year or two ago. Scary thing he is actually making it a full track car. I think i'd still prefer a GTO MR twin cam over the datsuns with the independent rear.

Pics of galants wanted
I've got a set of pepper pots and a set of datsun TRX 15" rims here and i'm debating which to polish up to put on my gb. I was just wondering if anyone has some pics of them on any galants. I remember seeing a gb with some pepper pots on it but can't seem to find it at all anymore.

Also for spray painting the car make sure you get a compressor which can flow enough for the spray gun. The best i found to suit the job at a decent price was the belt drive supercheap compressor but make sure you get it when it's on special. Prob cost about $500 but it will save so much hassle rath...

Re: IRS for Sigma GJ-GN
The biggest problem i can see you having is sorting out the strut towers as you would have to get them pretty close to perfect as compared to the starions. Any change in angle when compared to the starion setup would result in undesirable camber and caster problems. Also you would have to get them w...

Re: NSW RTA rules on Lowering Cars
Some bureaucrat with no idea about how large an impact this would make on the entire industry. How can they prove you have lowered suspension as often with alot of our older cars when you put in some lowed suspension it actually stays at the same height due to the sagging springs. They wouldn't have...

Re: Guess what I found..........
Doesn't look too bad. A bit of a diamond in the rough. A good bare metal respray would do it a world of good. I would need a bit of a tidy up to fix the rust and fix that drivers door but apart from that it looks alright. The interior looks to be alright nick and with a good condition tacho dash too...

Re: Can or not IRS axle sapporo into sigma?
I just roughly measured the mounting on a full Starion rear end i picked up on eBay a while back. I had the same kinda idea a while back but never even bothered looking properly for anything like that as i have a wagon which is based on the gh design so unlikely to be that similar. At the very least...

Is that one of those 4g32 factory turbo's i've heard rumors about? The inlet manifold with the turbo logo and the weird turbo on there and the fact that everything looks factory apart from the pipe over the engine. Unusual concept though, I spose in the early days they were trying new things without...

Re: Removing the subframe
How do you mean remove the sub frame? The sigma's are all a monocoque chassis and the sub frame is an integral part of the body. It can't be removed from the body at all. Subframes are typically found now days in 4WD, Utes and some much older cars. Not used much in the past 30 years as it makes the ...

Re: 4g63t evo 4 into sigma
Not many people go with shoving evo4 engines into RWD cause the evo3 is so much easier to do. All the mountings are there from the evo3 to bolt in with off the shelf parts without having to worry about gearbox's and custom engine mounts. All that pretty much needs doing for the evo3 is cut and shut ...

Re: Ticking Noise when i try to start
It it's electric problem you can remove the small ignition wire from the starter motor and bypass it with a screwdriver or something similar by contacting the main power lead to the starter ignition wire connection. From past experience if it's a dodgy starter motor you can sometimes get it to work ...

I have one of each here and i'll can check it out in the morning for you. easiest way is wait til a...

Re: Fuel system questions
Yeah you can use the malpassi to stay at the same pressure. Just don't connect up the vacuum line to the regulator but you would need the return to the tank. The surge tank would be advisable as any starvation of the fuel to the pump can kill them pretty quickly. You can run with out a surge tank bu...

Re: 4G63T into sigma?
Sounds as though you have a little confusion with the 2.4 starwagon heads. Have never heard of any one using the 2.4L 16V heads on the 4g63. The 16V 2.4 heads are from the newer engines which i'm pretty sure are a different design to the early 2L engines. The starwagon have a multipoint mainfold whi...

Have you heard about compatibility problems with the hyundai's. Of everything i know and have heard the hyundai stuff is all mitsubishi patterns because they didn't have the development budget at that time. I know the 2L engines are pretty much the same after pulling one out of a sonata. Some very m...

Re: Galant diff conversions?
Yeah the early hilux had a very narrow diff and from what i've heard a lsd transplant into them is a bolt in affair. I owned a 1975 hilux's about a year ago and from memory the external dimensions of the diff centre were about 8.5 inches. I contemplated keeping the diff and wrecking the rest but end...

Here's just a few other choices for you to contemplate. Another option which a lot of people don't look at it putting in a NA 4g63 DOHC engine into the Galant. They are found in a few different cars such at the Galants up till about 1993 and the Hyundai sonata's up until about 1997 and the sonata's ...

Re: Awesome Turbo Setup (MUST READ)
I'm just going to give my 2 cents of input here The biggest problem i can see with the remote mounted turbos is energy loss. Ok starting at basics. Turbos work by using the exhaust energy which comes as pressure and thermal energy and is essentially unused energy from the combustion to spin a turbin...

Re: 4G32 Turbo???
What you probably heard was the 4g62 being in those particular vehicles as a standard turbo engine. It's a 1.8L engine which is pretty much the same as the 4g63 SOHC turbo found in the starions except a smaller capacity. As far as i know the first turbo engines from Mitsubishi were the sigma turbos ...

Re: compatible 2.6's
Or if you are keen on cubes you could look at a 4g64 from an express van. They have plenty of potential as they share a lot with the 4g63's. You can get a twim cam head from a vr4 and bolt it on with a few mods and rebuild it to turbo specs. It is the largest engine you can turbo and but into a gala...

Re: GH front Guards, wagon different to sedan?
One of the members on the old site had a GN wagon with a GH front. Straight changeover. I'm guessing that you'd probably be referring to me. :D I wouldn't exactly say that it was a straight change over but the guards use all the same bolt locations. The only thing that needed modding was welding on...
