Re: cold air intake idea.....would this work???
Don't do it (it simply won't work). If you can duct some clean air from the front of the car directly towards your air filter it will be way better than the filter sucking hot air from inside the engine bay (you've seen it done - put the filter inside a shroud to keep it separate from the rest of t...

Re: cold air intake idea.....would this work???
To answer your question simply, the intercooler won't work in a N/A application at all and the small electric fans do not flow anywhere near enough to be of any use at all. The intercooler only works on a turbo application because the compressed air out from the intake side of the turbo is much hott...

Re: Randon GB Electric info
That would make sense a little about the GA's having the equipment as my GB is one of the first GB at a November 72 and has the tail lights with the extra hole. My car has a couple of cross over parts from the GA's as i guess that they just had spare parts left over and just chucked them on instead ...

I was tracking down some electrical gremlins with some headlights not working today and I decided to try to also work out why why hazard lights don't work. Have you considered getting a rapid prototype part to manufacture a mould for sand casting. If you designed up something in solidworks you might be able to get something reasonable. You'd just have to do a bit of thinking about the casting shrinkage etc.

Re: How many galants were made ?
If you take a look in the galant brochure section you can see some of the US ones showing a sedan, wagon, coupe and hardtop. It you look closely you can see a very small pillar there. The coupe was the budget model and the hardtop was the highest class.

I can probably include some more info to clear up any details. If you take a look at the information pdf of the parts manual which I put up of the Galant A51 to GC it gives the breakdown in writing of the vehicle compliance no. translation. http://astronsworld.dyndns.org/astron/viewtopic.php?f=14&am...

If you just ask for high tensile bolts and nuts then you would be fine. The there are different grades of high tensile bolts but I'm pretty sure there is only one two different grades of nuts, high tensile metric grade 8.8 and standard nuts. Also you need to measure the size of the holes which you a...

I'm pretty sure the Hyundai Lantra has the 1.8L equivalent of the 4g63 engine. The engine is basically a 4g62 engine from memory and the head will go onto a 4g63 engine but it just has smaller ports.

To convert to the GJ style mirrors you would need the window glass, mirror and associated trim bits and also the window glass runner. This would be at the very least. Unsure if it would all bolt in at all. Might even need the window winder mechanism too.

Does the kiggly racing crank trigger sensor eliminate the need for the CAS on the back of the head? I don't know if this would be the right section for this topic but I'll go ahead with it anyway. I was just wondering how much interest there would be from people for an option to relocate the stock 4g63 DOHC Cam Angle Sensor from the back of the engine to allow for a much easier fit into Galants an...

Yeah there was definately a 1.6L GK. The last of the sigma's to have the saturn. The chassis no should be gk3-m-41. It was basically the lowest vehicle of the range. The GN was the only model that didn't have the saturn engine at all.Galant_GT0 wrote:So there was a 1.6 GK??

Getting the heater core out is an absolute bitch of a job. I would personally prefer to pull out an engine then a heater core. I've almost got that A51,GA,GB,GC Galant parts manual scanned in now so i should be able to get it uploaded as soon as i get the info from Astron Boy about how he would like me to do so.
I should have it all scanned in by the end of the weekend for people to upload hopefully.

I think the best market for the engine wouldn't be Australia but more so the Japanese Market. They are willing to pay a fair bit more for history and quality then us. Hit a snag today. The block is a wide block (330mm betwen the gearbox bolt holes) but it uses a narrow sump and timing cover. Just spoke to Cheater and he informed me that it's a GN wide block.
