Re: Cost transport - car from VIC to QLD?
I once bought a car from ACT to QLD door to door for around 800 from memory.
Cheaper alternative is to fly down and drive back but the convenience of having it insured whilst on a truck back for me is better for the few extra hundred. Cant remember which company i went with though unfortunately

Re: Scorpion LSD options
Ended up going hilux diff as plans have changed to big f**k off turbo 2.6 so picked up a complete diff assembly from work for a few hundy, 4.3 LSD and can handle almost anything i throw at it no worries.

Re: Radiator for an LC?
i had the stock one go on me a few months back. couldnt find any other rad to fit, most modern cars are too long and tall. i bought a half size style mirage 3 row alloy rad but then decided to go different route with engine and need a full size. Long story short, i coudlnt find anything within a rea...

Re: What is it worth?
Can pick up molded carpets for LA/LB/LC off ebay for 88 bucks. Multiple people contest they fit all lancers LA-C and since the LC only came in hatch my guess would be all are the same?

Re: 4G54 Turbo Build (i hope)
Looking good. Almost went down this path but decided on 2.6 EFI turbo. As a result i have a narrow and a wideblock 5 speeds for sale as well as a complete 4g52 from a GH sigma for sale too if you need anything.

Possible 83 sigma part out - Brisbane
Hi folks. Boss has just spotted an 83 GL sigma through the auctions he buys from that is coming up for auction tomorrow and i want him to get it for work obviously, but he would need a little more interest for motivation to buy to cover his ass etc. Question is - how many of you would be interested ...

Best bet is a 3rd party site like imgur/photobucket etc and embed into the thread.
Re: Maverick
And im a d**khead for not noticing earlier GQ patrol discs....as in 6 stud....as in im doing 5 stud. So much for that, they dont do a 5 stud. Id just re drill the rotors, but now a friend has piped up and said he can lend me the brackets for a hilux disc conversion to BA rotors/R31 calipers to get t...
Re: Maverick
Well.....it seems i should of done some real homework before coming up with all these silly ideas! Ive gotten onto a mob called designfab from a friends recommendation and sent them away an email since the last post. Well they have already gotten back to me and they make a bolt on backing plate/brac...
Re: Maverick
Got some work today figuring the rear diff conundrum out. I was hoping that a BF falcon solid rear disc assembly can be made to fit over a hilux diff, but the internal drum handbrake fouls on the hilux axle by 1mm or so. This puts me back to making a backing plate and getting a caliper to suit a rot...
Re: Maverick
Picked up the correct sump gasket of llgc tonight - legend. Hopefully get that on this weekend and finish putting the seal kit through it. Have pretty much decided a hilux rear end with BA falcon solid diff brake setup is the way to go. 298mm rear rotor that will JUST sit inside a 15 inch wheel whic...
Re: Maverick
Hey dude.
Yep thats the one, 225ml exactly. Apparently magna wideblocks have a slightly smaller sump than the RWD equivelants.
Ill PM you.

Re: Maverick
So pretty sure i have a 1988 TN magna block. Engine number gives me TN, and looking at sump gaskets it seems that magna is the gasket that looks like mine, not the triton/sigma etc, coupled with the fact when stealth was around last mentioned that somethign he spotted looked like something out of a ...
Re: Maverick
I'll make that the next on the list to buy then. Just went into repco. So payen and another company list my gasket, which is the one I currently have that's wrong. Permaseal list the same gasket as a crossover number but the one I need. So there's 2 different gaskets for the same car apparently. Min...
Re: Maverick
Rocker and sump gaskets are different. Rocker obviously as I have an efi head from a magna but I'm surprised the sump gasket is different. Slightly bigger. Same bolt pattern just goes out one more bolt to the side so the gasket sits on the outside flat edge instead of on. All others are fitting so f...
Re: Maverick
Also just noticed that the rocker cover fouls on the head studs, so will need to be modified to suit. Luckily it looks like the rear left baffle plate (i think) is fouling, simply cutting it out or drilling a hole large enough for the stud top to fit through should fix it - only just fouls about a c...

Re: Maverick
Well s**t ay. Wonder why they are telling me i need samples as they dont have anything - you would think they know i can throw a sigma kit straight on.. Any specific model of sigma i need to ask for when i contact them again? Probably something late like a GK? Also got the head on properly today, al...
Re: Maverick
I did contact them at one point about a kit but they dont have something off the shelf and i would need to send front hub/strut/LCA etc and even recommended sending a wheel. being we are up here and theyre not 2min down the road it just seemed like too big a hassle at the time. Might have no other e...
Re: Maverick
After conferring with my 'council' overseeing the build decisions ive opted to go for a hilux rear diff, and disc convert it. This way i can pick any disc/caliper (5x114 though) from work and make it fit. I found a 330ml rotor/caliper off a territory rear end but im thinking its too big, and they ru...
Re: Maverick
Gasket kit arrived today. If i can be arsed during the week ill put a kit through the engine otherwise if i get time during the weekend is more likely. least then the studs and head will be done and dusted and i can prep the interior next.

Re: 4G54 Head Gasket for turbo
Sweet. I picked up a cheap complete gasket kit with a graphite head gasket for now so if/when i blow that i know im good with the copper. (although by then its probably time to o-ring the bugger)
Re: Maverick
I like the idea of the cooler in the manifold. That would be sick. Im glad there is more room than you thought, more space for activities!
Re: Maverick
Redline all the gears! Going to be very interesting how long the stock motor holds up to the abuse ill give it though. I want to run 18, but realistically ill probably drop it back to 15 in a vein attempt to get some sort of "reliability" out of it...or rather more than 1 skid before it th...
Re: Maverick
Couldnt help myself. Bought some ARP head studs through work today. When the gasket kit arrives next week ill be able to finally marry the head and block in holy matrimony.
Re: Maverick
Not really. Intake almost rubs the strut tower and theres maybe 1cm between master and turbo/head and turbo either side so some bloody fancy pipework will need to be done for it, but im sure Stealth is more than qualified to do the job.
Re: Maverick
Finally got my ass into gear and mounted the 4g54 in. Found out that the 4g54 sigma mounts are far too low and give virtually no clearance for sump so luckily i had some 4g52 sigma mounts that brought it up for enough clearance everywhere. Hopefully get a cold side test fit on saturday and speak fur...
