Re: Headlight warning buzzer
Nice work mrd. I've been meaning to do this mod for many years to my GC, but never get around to it (which is slack, since electronics is my game!). But it is indeed an easy thing to do! You can get even more clever too, by setting up a bit of logic with some transistors, such that it will only buzz...

Re: Galant sedan inner rear pillar covers
Mine are pretty good, but I'd still possibly be interested, depending on cost (no idea what I'd pay, since they'd be a set of spares...). But either way, I'm certainly interested

Actually, I vaguely recall that one of the regular members, VGJono, did something similar on his sister's GA... perhaps check with him to see how things went (or search the forum for the thread...)

Re: scorpion booster in gb galant
Yeah, it will be a tight squeeze in there then, since the master cylinder will be longer to accommodate both drum and disc lines. Hopefully someone else has given it a go to pass comments... either way, good luck!

Re: scorpion booster in gb galant
I didn't use a Scorp one, but did modify a Lancer one to fit an old GC I used to have. Should be easy enough to do, as long as there's room in there! Are you doing anything else to the brakes? GA/GB was all-drums, right? Good luck with the project!

Those hidden headlights look sweet! Very US Muscle style! With the heater taps and plenum, we did a bit of work on a previous GC I had (where the silly bugger before me ran water for years and years!), and I ended up using refrigeration copper tubes to rout water (coolant!) around, and I used gas ta...

If 75 doesn't want 'em Astron, I wouldn't mind a pair :-)
Sounds good with the rear pillar plastics too Dave... they'll be a hot item I'm sure, if you can get a mould organised!

Re: 4G32 Rocker gear advice?
Hope you get to the bottom of this... how quickly do the tappets go out of spec after you fix them? And is is all of them, or specific ones in particular? I'm wondering whether there are issues with the locking threads too? If it's something like cam lobes or similar, you should notice the problems ...

Hi James,
Best bet is often to take the existing machine to a radiator guy and get them to match it up. Normally it's pretty easy to get something that will fit.
Good luck!

Re: Galant antena
You still should be okay, as long as the boot seal isn't broken. Essentially, what you want to prevent are shorts between the antenna (boot lid) and earth (rest of the body). You should be able to test this using a multimeter con continuity (beep) testing mode. If the boot seal is damaged, I got min...

Re: Galant antena
Hey guys, yeah I'll take some photos when I go for lunch. That's right, the boot lid is isolated from the rest of the body (hence the requirement for a good boot seal!), which is the ground plane for the stereo (ie earth). The Galant was ahead of its time in this regard, with the actual boot lid its...

Re: Galant antena
Mine is my boot lid (I always said Mitsi/Chrysler were always thinking ahead!), and it works fine. It's important you have a good connection between the antenna connection on your stereo and the boot, and that the boot lid itself ha s a good rubber seal. This one has never given me any trouble and I...

Re: What does it take to convert single to dual headlights?
With the parkers, you have a couple of options including keeping the standard GC ones (having a combination of the GC and GD look), or completely changing to GD ones (I have a GD bumper with the parkers down there, but normal GC single headlamps).
Good luck with it all!

Re: What does it take to convert single to dual headlights?
This should be a relatively easy conversion. You'd need to isolate the control (power) wires for the high-beams, and daisy chain these over to the two centre lights (for high-beam only operation), as well as the earth, and would obviously need the lamps, globes, globe connectors, etc. And then you'd...

Re: Battery Relocations
I haven't done this, but it should be a relatively straight forward task. Essentially, you need "big" cables running to the starter motor, earth (on the engine), and medium cables to the coil and alternator, and it's really a matter of connecting it like an extension lead :) I'm sure other...

Re: Lancer console in galant?
There's a bracket that is screwed into the body of the car, close to the gear stick, and the console screws into that on either side. The bracket is curved around the gear stick, and the two ends (where the console screws in) bend downwards to accommodate the console screws. If I need to pull mine o...

Damn, what a pain! It's all luck of the draw though. Plus, being winter I imagine there are fewer parts around since shed's tend to get pretty cool this time of year
But definitely keep your eye on Gumtree, and maybe even check interstate too, as there's always stuff around... Good luck!
