To use a wolf 3d ems or not ???????
I'm doing a vr4 4g63t twincam conversion on my 1972 GA galant...I have a Wolf 3d version 3.1 (never used).. Its not connected up as yet and no map set up as such, think the memory chip is for a vl commodore (bought it from failed project  )...just wondering if i should keep this or go some...

Re: tubbys GN panel van project
three holes at bottom of bracket, is where those rivets i was referring to go in to rain gutter...stops it slipping up or down. the bolt / clamp arrangement isnt enough to hold it on...tubby wrote:

and every car is a bit different in its axle tramp behavior due to tyres, spring number, spring height shocker position etc etc! some have easy fixes some are just nuisances!

Re: gb galant diff
asimilar to a caltrac sort of thing Why would you go the caltrac-style option (ie. attached to the spring mounts, as i understand it ?) rather than a proper anti-tramp rod setup mounted to the axle housing & the bodyshell ? I am doing it like that diff mounts and body mounts....thats what i mea...

Re: gb galant diff
ahhh dave?? burnouts are a hard one to explain why they appeal..........i personally just love em!...  :D :D burnout pads tend to be really grippy, my ga axle tramped big time on a pad...on street...smoked no probs with minor tramp... ive got an extra leaf (3 all up) and spring ...

Re: gb galant diff
I dunno what has what?? my ga had skinny toothpick axles...but gb sedan i wrecked had bigger ones?? there now whats in my ga... + the diff centre to suit them , axel tramp definitely twists and loads diffs!!

Re: gb galant diff
i snapped 6 axles.. with a 2 litre engine a five speed and gb diff only broke one diff, though it was a cig (or boc) locker:(....it was axle tramp that really added to them breaking!

Re: serious timing issue
its riveted chain....i wouldn't...plus i think that would make it too short...its only a small amount of chain that needs shortening...head was machined 120 thou....so,120 thou x 2 =240 thou ???

Re: serious timing issue
coilbound valve springs??? breaks rocker arms.. (and sometimes valve collets) .and maybe thats locking up cam causing it to skip.....
you cant shorten the timing chain...too hard... modify guides to use more chain .....to take up slack.
