Re: GH Rebuild, Maybe.

Update:- Get the head Wednesday/Thursday if lucky. Turbo now reconditioned. New wastegate. Did the down pipe and manifold in the heat wrap that I've had for years and never used. Need to make up a shield for the top of the turbo. Dont want the bonnet to cook the paint again. (if it gets paint) http:...

Re: TR11KY going to E85

Ran it for 4 months till the powers that be removed it. Only problem with it - if you can call it a problem - had to go back to stock boost as the 550cc where to small (new 044 and 1000cc sitting on the shelf waiting to go in). Had new lines in when I went efi - and I don't think you will have any p...

Re: Camshaft decision time

You are going to have to get that compression ratio up somehow. Its not a copper gasket is it? Going on a stock M7 head at 70cc ish - All depends on what I could get the head shaved down to - But yes, it is fun. If the head was 60cc or 55cc - Would me around 7.5 or 8 to 1. Will see if i can get the...

Re: Camshaft decision time

yes - hydro/roller - May go swivel rocker adjusters (Elephant feet) with rollers if the hydraulic lifters can't take it. RPW do the non roller cam for $265 - What the difference is for the same thing I well never know - Just a different grind but Im only guess'n. Camtech around the same price as wag...

Re: Camshaft decision time

yes - higer rev's + boost - but a true 2.4 is around 6.5 (my pistons are 1mm taller). The plan was to shave the head to get it to 7to1 or higher, never did but runs ok as is. noidea what gasket now - but the arp's help. w58 + bw78 diff - 60-1 turbo i think ( ask fred ). Anyway, RPW finally sent the ...

Re: Camshaft decision time

Waggot is out, can't get Billets. The cam is really decided by the engine compression, expected boost range and the usable RPM range. A wild cam on a mild engine won't work well and vice-versa. yes - should have added - compression around 6.9 --- 92mm flats that are 1mm taller x 90mm stroke = 3mm be...

Re: Camshaft decision time

Will give waggot a ring this arvo - but will depend if thay have Billets.

That cam of yours Xaser is well behaved considering rpw class it as a race cam only - sounds good too.

Crow got back to me :- Sorry cant help you, as we cant get blanks for this motor. Martin.

Re: Oversize Valves

EBAY 1mm OS Stainless Valves If you are going to use a big cam, don't use hydraulic. Use the "SCAT" swivel ball adjusting screws (VW/Porsche parts) Cheers. There the ones I found - but was unsure if the length was the same with the hydraulic/non-hydraulic. But hoping for bigger anyway. ( ...

Oversize Valves

Few questions. My engine guy was getting me some - now he cant. :banh: Would anyone know if Starion valves will work in the magna head - slip cam and adjustable screw type vs roller rocker and hydraulic lifters. Are they the same length? Can get the 1mm oversized Starion valves from the states - Or ...

Re: Fuel warning/empty light stays on

Could be the stupid, your using to much fuel pressure switch - makes the fuel light come on when you accelerate to hard.

My gh se had one - removed it.

If its stuffed could be holding the light on.

"built for revs and a turbo" JE pistons - 3mm below the deck - 4mm as Superscan811 said if using stock pistons. http://www.walkercorp.ath.cx/engine/small.JPG more pix http://www.walkercorp.ath.cx/engine yes, it will rev but think you need head work and a cam to take more advantage of it.

GH Rebuild, Maybe.

Well, Rebuild or Memorial. Short end of it - Thursday - Old bloke faints/blacks out - full on the pedal in an auto - clips me while stationary at a T Intersection, then continues on to hit a parked 4x4, turning it 90 and pushing it and himself onto the footpath till he finally hits a shop. His Camry...

I removed the ring gear from a sigma flywheel - installed it on the vr4 4g63 flywheel - the sigma was just that bit bigger.

Can't see the stock ring much on the vr4 flywheel in this pic
