Re: Towing with a sigma

I've towed this caravan with an automatic Scorpion, towed quite comfortably at 100kph. It's about 600kg loaded and has no braking system on it.

Re: GK Scorp Project

Just updating where I am at. Red Scorp - well it was fun, but after feeling the chassis twisting has now been scrapped so it cannot be registered again and then sold to another forum member for parts. Yes I forgot to get the good bits off of it so I will be buying some parts back :banh: White Scorp ...

Good news, white scorp drives very nicely thank you.
So have cancelled insurance and rego on red scorp, transferring personal plates to white scorp and will be mobile in that soon.
Red scorp has now become a mobile shed, filled with Scorp parts.
Happy again

You can buy them from the USA - Addco 349 Rear Anti Sway Bar Stabilizer Roll

eBay seller - neverenoughauto did carry them.

They sent me the install manual and the holes all line up with the Oz version.

Re: GK Scorp Project

Just had the afternoon from hell. :banh: I wanted to find out why the red scorp would not idle below 1500 rpm. Took the air cleaner off and low and behold after 5 minutes at idle the choke is still full on?? Feel the hoses and both hoses from the carby to the manifold are stone cold, yet radiator bu...

Re: Strange intermittent misfire/timing issue on a GC

I would try several things: 1) take the plug out connect your comp gauge and start the car and watch the comp gaug for fluctuation (mech failure) 2) turn the dizzy cap over and check for arcing marks or gouges. Could be signs of out of centre shaft etc (previously mentioned) 3) run the timing light ...

Re: Fuzzy dice illegal? Official source?

Hi Cottees, the law that I am aware of is the obstruction to view law. Could not find it on SA sites, may be there somewhere. Found the Qld version If an object, such as an item hanging from a rearview mirror, or a GPS device obstructs your vision it must be moved to a different place or removed. An...

Re: Strange intermittent misfire/timing issue on a GC

So the car started behaving like this before you replaced all those items listed? The timing mark bounces around when it runs rough? I wouldn't expect that behaviour from a vacuum leak as the timing shouldn't change. (NB I am not ruling this out however) You state the counter weights advance and rel...

Re: 80 dodge challenger

On eBay (neverenoughauto.com) located in the US has some suspension components for these. I was looking at the rear sway bar set up, which measures the same, and uses the same mouning holes on the Scorpion. I have found it easier to use an eBay search such as Plymouth (Sapporo,Challenger) which will...

Re: Strange intermittent misfire/timing issue on a GC

Hi Shuggy, I agree with Dave, sounds more like a lead / plug / spark issue. Flex each lead as you use your ohmeter across the ends as this may discover open circuits not there when the lead is straight. A cracked dizzy cap may cause the same issue and the crack may be barely visible and hard to find...

Re: Strange intermittent misfire/timing issue on a GC

If it has a mechanical counterweight advance on the dizzy I would have said lubricate that and free that up, could be after revs the counterweights stay out and only slowly return as they have not been lubricated? This would have the effect of advancing timing and returning it to normal over time. I...
