Z31 stuff is good, although its not as easy to find.
S13 setup would allow the use of the common aftermarket coil overs.
Any one shed more light on the s13 into GH swap? Have we discussed t on this forum before? Perfect for my yellow galant which I need to step up to 5 stud.

Re: Cam for 2.6 turbo
I ran into the 11's with the stock magna cam too. so perhaps i should be looking more at upgrading my fuel system then to an 044 and bigger injectors, then see how bad the cam is. Running 11's is an impressive time for the stock cam mate. Either way if i get one i'll start witha cheater cam for now...

Re: Cam for 2.6 turbo
So true Mic, I got one of Paul's Cams. My setup uses a dead stocker m2 casting.

Re: EPA
In my experiences, I had a letter sent to me in the mail asking them to present my RX2 at the epa for testing. They were concerned with noise only, not emissions. In my area the RTA do the emissions testing not the EPA, you may be in luck.

Re: Tuff auto conversion
Auto's are for people who can't turn corners :P Ha! Corners are just there to link up the straights! I've come into this thread way too late, but you boys seem to have it covered. Auto is the way to go, the biggest plus is there is no stupid clutch to wear out. My Powerglide has been in my wagon fo...

+1 for the heat gun method. I used a 1 inch paint scraper too. I couldn't get my hands on the dry ice.

Re: heat proof for floor pans
It would also be beneficial to wrap the exhaust in that heat wrap stuff too. Doing this keeps the heat in, which is said to keep the gas volume expanded and help draw gas away from the engine/turbo. I have to do it, the shoe of my dyno tuner melted to the floor after a few hours on the dyno. The gas...

Re: rust fix
Why not use the automotive filler? But yeah, fibreglass and then plastic filler on top. Treat the edges of the metal with a rust converter or etch primer. It will slow down the rust coming back. I guess if there's no metal, then there will be no rust!

Re: 3.5L stroker kit? I want one
Sounds awesome, got any more info on that? Should fit a little easier than the 2j I tried to squeeze in my coupe. This would be the 3.7l Mercruiser 470 its actually half a ford 460 but has a chev gearbox pattern so theres plenty of good heads and boxes out there I had one in my old Hains Hunter So ...

Re: Turbo oil return
It was about half inch from memory? I've got a turbo sump here somewhere but I don't know where.
Bigger is better for turbo oil drains, just make it to match the turbo's drain pipe size.

Re: 3.5L stroker kit? I want one
ha I even looked at running one of those engines that was basically a big block chev cut in half and used a custom crank. It was roughly about 250 cubes. I would have done it but they wanted 9k US for the crank. One ran low 7's NA in an altered. Would have been easy as there is big block stuff every...

Re: 3.5L stroker kit? I want one
The head on my car is an M2 casting. It has larger exhaust valves fitted which was fairly involved, but is not ported. It goes pretty well I would say but most would not get to the stage where they maxxed out the flow of the head.

Re: 3.5L stroker kit? I want one
Wouldn't it make an astron into more of a truck motor? The torque would be great but it wouldn't be the best for trying to get high rpm out of. You'd need 3.0 diff gears for the drags!
