Re: wheels
i've just had a set of stockies widened from a 4" rim to 6" with standard back spacing. They use a 205/60/13 tire and look awesome. However the widening cost $125 each wheel. And the tires are 'nankang' at $90 each. Find tires that are wider or lower profile for a 13" wheel will be ext...

Re: Help with graphics/two tone etc etc

Re: wreckers in VIC??
Theres a yellow GC at centre rd wreckers, but its been raped pretty hard. Its been difficult for me getting parts in melbourne, especially panels. Most of my spares i bought from guys interstate - i reckon there'd be twice as many galants in tassie than here. Stuff like bumpers and stainless trims c...

Rear Wheel bearings? Borg warner - mitsy?
I have a 77 GD sedan and i'm having trouble finding out what rear wheel bearings to get to replace the buggered ones i've got. I know that there are at least two different types, between the borg warner and the mitsubishi diffs, but i dont know which one i've got. The bearings in my car are quite la...

Re: Gearbox crossmember mounts on GD
use a small hole saw to cut a hole into the side of the rail, drop in a flared nut, bolt up ya box, then weld the peice of steel that you cut out with the hole saw back in.

Re: rust removal and prevention.
For rust prevention inside doors and on the floor pan etc, there is a product made by 'POR 15' that is similar to fish oil, but has no smell and is a better safe guard against rust spreading. If you have just done a rust repair then brush it over any areas that you wont see(eg, in doors, over the fl...

Re: rust removal and prevention.
I am a spray painter - panel beater and have restored heaps of japanese cars from the seventies( galants, geminis, datsuns, etc...). Every car thats over 30 years old is highly likely to have rust growing in it somewhere. The best method of removal is to completely cut it out and weld is a new secti...

i bought my GD galant from center rd wreckers for $600 bucks, because it had no dents or rust and was totally original, down to the leads plugs and tyres and had only 52,000 kays on the clock... couldn't go past it...

Re: widening stock galant wheels...? finding tires..?
its gonna cost $130 a pair, so $260 for the widening, then i'll have them sandblasted and powdercoated, so the wheels will cost about $350 all up (less tyres). i only want to add some 'dish' onto the wheels, not requiring more grip, just looks good. I'm gonna be reparaying my car around easter time,...

widening stock galant wheels...? finding tires..?
i've been looking for an old school style set of wheels for my GD and cant find anything that looks good and fits, so i've deciced that i'm goin to modify the original steel wheels to make them wider by adding some size onto the dish (outer) side of the wheel. There's a place in moorabin called ajax...

i'm thinking about doin the same eng conversion in my '77 gd sedan and i've heard that some sigmas have c10 autos behind them. its only a rumor to me but worth investigating as that would be a strong option. also are you gonna get yours engineered?
