Re: Matt's Red GN
I made a curtain to keep fragments of decayed sigma from entering my electronics. http://i61.tinypic.com/2wm43tv.jpg I began cutting, blasting, rust converting grinding and swearing. I have absolutely no idea what I am doing and would love some experienced suggestion of procedure here. I know I shou...

I'm yet to do a full inspection but if the gk one will fit that seems like a good option . eBay seller said no but I doubt they know any more that it says on the box.

Heater Core
I need to do something about my leaking heater core. I have called locally and have been told repair is about $200 or new for $240. On ebay I found some GJ/GK units for $145 but am unsure of compatibility with GN. My final option is to repair myself but I am unsure if this is a good idea given how m...

Windscreen was leaking pretty bad so I pulled it out. Re: Matt's Red GN
While I agree it doesn't seem to happen often, I'd at least put an air bleed on the front water port, BECAUSE.. Look at the height difference between the rear and front water port, This can trap air, leaving the front of the head without water flow. Even if it's just a small 2mm bleed into the hose...

Started modelling the radio panel. I still dont have the audio module to completely figure it out. I copied most of it from the stock panel. http://i58.tinypic.com/x7kts.jpg I soldered the top back on the radiator. http://i57.tinypic.com/2hg626s.jpg http://i57.tinypic.com/jgpl44.jpg I also replaced ...

Re: 4g54 Turbo headgasket woes.
It's blowing head gaskets for a reason. First things first, WHERE is the head gasket blowing out, and is it in the same spot each time? The usual things that will cause a gasket to blow. 1. Block or head aren't flat. 2. Corrosion in the head or block, around the water holes. 3. Re-using old head bo...

Re: Matt's Red GN
Haven't done much with the Sigma, here are some random bits though Got a 10Hz GPS, naturally 3D printed a mount for it. It was a little bit out but I just heated it with a heat gun and that allowed it to deform nicely. http://i60.tinypic.com/o0un2q.jpg Played around with CAN BUS in hopes of adding s...

Re: 1985 GK GSR Project
I used the pulley wheel off the sigma alternator and made up a spacer to fit it on the triton alternator. Tensioning bracket was further away so I got a bit dodgy. Nothing about the install is ideal, but it works fine - I was just using an alternator I had on hand. The bottom bolt doesn't even locat...

Re: 1985 GK GSR Project
I had a lot of trouble with the standard sigma 40A alternator in my build. I am running electric power steering however.
I installed a 90A alternator from a 2.4L triton and it solved all my problems.

Re: Matt's Red GN
(Still catching up) I was rough with the sump as it already had massive damage at the front from the previous owner and there was no point polishing a turd. After multiple rounds with the BFH2000 the bolt holes no longer lined up with the block :( Being a wierd sump I could not source another one so...

Re: Matt's Red GN
(Update from the past) The sump was not only leaking but hitting badly in the rack still. One spot is particularly bad near the existing dent to the right and would have worn a hole untreated. http://i58.tinypic.com/2kfrpe.jpg As the sump was already in bad condition I wasn't too elegant with the ha...

Re: 4G54 Clutch upgrade
Thanks for all the suggestions! I'd love to figure out which year US G54Bs have compatible flywheels. I think the problem I have been having is oil leaking into the clutch from the sump. Hopefully I can get that fixed and the clutch will recover/dry out. It's easier for me to get an RX7 box than a T...
