Re: How To: Fit a VR4 4g63 engine

Great write-up there. The only things I would probably add would be that if using the front thermostat relocation then water pathways in the block are recommended to be modified with enlargements in the rear and restrictions in the front to help to promote water flow to the back of the head. This is...

Re: HELP! Car shaking badly!!!!

I think that info might not be enough to make a proper diagnosis. The things to work out now is if the vibration it vehicle speed or engine speed dependent. Was the vibration all in the same gear? You could try and put the car in forth gear at that speed and see if the vibration is still there or if...

Re: Workshop Manuals in PDF *NEW GH Sigma*

Thanks For the GH upload. By the way I was getting a constant 140kb/s which took pretty much no time to download the complete manual. I could have a go at scanning in some of the sigma and galant parts manuals which I have here if you would be able to upload them up to your server. I don't have the ...

Really? I was able to get a drag link for the GB brand new from supercheap only about 12 month ago for about $120. I think pedders also had them too. Also from the part numbers they seem to be interchangeable between all of the galants.

Re: Temperature Sender Unit - Replacement -- Temp Gauge Hotter ?

It could be just that the resistance through the sender isn't the same as the old one. This would mean that now it indicates a different resistance through the sender at the same temperature giving the gauge the wrong information. Probably best to confirm that the sender is the correct one for the a...

Yeah it's very much a rare vehicle. It's basically a starion engine and driveline with a sigma body attached on top. I'm sure someone on here might be interested in it.

Here are some pics of the wheels i have here. The one fitted I think is a GTO steering wheel or is a gto horn button on a lancer steering wheel. The lancer steering wheel i think is the same but has a completely black horn button. The one lower is the galant hardtop one. http://i278.photobucket.com/...

A bit more info too for the Datsun Mitsubishi thing. The most of Datsuns share the same pcd and rim offset too but pretty sure the thread pitch is different so they have to use custom nut's if using our pepper pots or turbo mags. I think ours is something like a 1.5 thread pitch.

Here is the wiring diagram I have worked out as best as I was able to do at the time. It isn't complete as I wasn't able to work out all of the wiring connections. Unfortunately it also isn't nice and neat like most are used to and I should also have at the time of making the diagram but didn't thin...

The Sonata would be the cheapest option for sourcing the 4g63 out of. Or you could get the 1.8L from the Hyundai Lantra as the head is almost the same. Also they were made available between about 93 and 98 Sonata's which i wouldn't call that old, although i've never owned a car any newer then from t...

A '71 sedan just popped up for sale recently around where I live, however...after looking at that and the GC/GDs, I would honestly prefer a GC Sedan over a GA/GB. Too bad I've never seen a 74-77 sedan stateside before. I'm guessing that the '71 model has the rectangular GD style headlights. There i...

I'd say that they are a 510 cc injector. I'm pretty sure that the denso injectors actually have the flow rate listed on part of the injector. I have some evo yellow tops which have 510 and some vr4 blue tops here with 450 on it and that corresponds to the listed specs for those vehicles. Even the so...

Yeah that chrome trim on the top on the bumper appears to be a NZ only feature. It appears as though the NZ vehicles have a different series start every year unlike the aussie model sigma's. Thats where the GV designation comes from rather than our gk code style.

I'm pretty sure that the super saloon GJ or GK sigma actually came out as a two tone colour the same as yours here in aus so it may have been a genuine pattern or just made to look that way later on.

I think the biggest issue you would have with most of the larger engine options is trying to get it registered. You would have to check with what your state allows for the engine capacity increases. Remember the lancers are a very light car at about 850kg or so and the Galants aren't that much heavi...

I've always loved the idea of owning one of these to be able to own a piece of mitsubishi heritage and you should be able to get one over here for well under 10 grand but then I'd be concerned about trying to keep it on the road if anything decided to break. Re: Wide or narrow ?

The block are essentially the same apart from the flywheel as far as i'm aware. The gearbox's for the wide are apparently a little stronger due to them being suited for the 2.6 vs the 2L or smaller for the narrow bolt up. Also the 2L are definately all narrow and 2.6L autos were all narrow except fo...
