Re: This enginebay pic provides more questions than answers.
The interesting thing is that it looks like a GH sedan with an Astron 1motor, but with a catalytic converter fitted. Unless it is from another country. I was just curious.

or you could do this. I think the column was out of a Suzuki or something similar.
There is a thread on the site about using the Astra pump, but he also converted to rack and pinion.

Re: Power steering conversion
The mounting points will be cast into the block. You will need a power steer column ,fluid reservoir,ps belt, bracket and box. Or if you wish to keep your existing column to colour match your interior, you can just drop the PS shaft inside your existing column..The ps box should come with an additio...

Re: MSD boost/retard system
I once bought a Carby Magna dizzy to send to Scortcher to be regraphed and a boost retard canister fitted. When I got it back and went to install it..I found that the mounting for the module on the Magna dizzy was at a different angle to the Sigma GN dizzy, and it would not fit. I forget what the ac...

Re: 1985 GK GSR Project
The fuel gauge problem could be the gauge cluster voltage regulator which gives a false reading when it plays up.
The low fuel warning light usually is accurate and works off its own sensor. When the light comes on you have about 4 litres left in the tank.

I dont know what you guys call Mitsubishi Tritons or Pajero's...but this is the manifold off a 91 Pajero 2.6
I think all Tritons and Pajero's from mid 80's through to the release of the 2.4 had this head

Maybe, just maybe it was a top secret special order one-off custom rallyart fitment from the factory. Or maybe someone just painted it.

Re: fitting front strut with Kings KDRL 83
I used a Skyline /Pintara insert and cut around 30mm out of the strut body below the bottom spring seat. Or just drop a spacer in the leg. That insert is around 70mm shorter overall when extended if you cut 30mm out of the leg. Or 40mm shorter if you use a spacer. And it bolts up to the Sigma top mo...

It finally happened.....
After 15 years of faithful service (and the last 3 as a daily driver) I finally had my first mechanical failure. Having a bit of a fun time on a country road..pulling out of a tight right hander in 3rd and suddenly a vary load clanging coming from the engine / transmission area. Shifted straightaway...

It takes about 30 seconds for me to upload a picture from my computer folder to SG. But it does require having an account with a pic host site. I use ImageShack.
http://imgur.com/ is a good free host site.

Re: Lowering Springs
I have Nissan Skyline (the Australian model from the mid 80,s) strut inserts in the struts in my Sigma. They are about 40mm shorter in the body compared to the Sigma inserts. So using them requires either a 40mm spacer to be dropped into the strut tube..or cutting 40mm out the strut below the bottom...

The block castings are different..but the main change was the pistons and head and upgraded electronic Ignition . So if you have a reasonable GJ motor and box you have just saved yourself a lot of hassle.

There may be a one in a million chance that you previous Sigma was converted from auto to manual by a previous owner. So do the measurement to make sure.

Re: Auto to manual
If your previous Sigma was also a 2.6 .. then your 2.6 manual gearbox will not bolt up to The GN 2.6 auto block..sad but true. This is a bellhousing from an earlier BW box..but it will show you your issue. The problem is the spacing indicated in this shot. On a 2.6 manual block it is 330mm. But on a...

Re: Auto to manual
If it is all factory GN then you will need a KM132 narrow gearbox/clutch/Flywheel/Pedal box/gearbox mount/clutch cable from a 2 litre manual Sigma. The 2 litre manual has the same bellhousing bolt spacings as your 2.6 litre auto block. The 2 litre gearboxes show up on this site occasionally..also on...

Does the haltech come with a base tune to get you to the tuner ? Or did you get it wired at a shop.
