A112H - You have a Pm. OrangeLancer - Custom built buy a guy here in Bendigo. It was not cheap but the quality is amazing. Dimple tubes, super high number of fins per area (forget the number but it was as high as i could get), 4mm thick plate for the end tanks. Guy who built it when i told him the s...

Re: 2 door LA build-hillclimb car
May be worth fitting a rubber sleeve around the two hose's where they go throungh to body. Vibration and time could cut into them and fill your boot with fuel. I would also seal the gaps that lead from boot to cabin as you now have fuel systems in the boot space.

Re: 4G63 SOHC carby to DOHC Twin Webers
To avoid the hassles with carbies and having to make extractors, I was wondering if I could put a turbo on it, and use the efi - prabably with bigger injectors? I am wondering how much boost the standard n/a motor would handle? I am assuming I would need an anti knock control or a turbo ecu. - Does...

Re: Is this Possible
This would be a very cool and very fast car if you built it. However there are a number large questions that need to be considered. 1. How much do you want to spend? 2. Who will do the work? 3. What class/type of racing will it be used for? 4. Are you going in with your eyes open in regard to the am...

I was told the hp limit was the crank. To much power/boost would break the crank in half. In stock form or mild power they go forever.

It was a non timed event but i was doing prity slow times anyway. Rough timing had me at 1min 55sec mark. Nothing fancy
but better than dropping gearbox or diff oil all over the track. LOL

Re: 1977 GD Galant racecar build.
Sorry for the overdue update. The old girl made it to the winton fun day! On the most part all went well. The stock brakes where useless as expected and the stock diff and gearbox had to be looked after so they didnt end up over the track. http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c168/jimmyrex/WFD2X-00034....

So a chev T5 wont fit? The box ive got is 243mm from the tip of the input shaft to the face of the main housing. This maby longer than the Ford imput shaft? The retainer collar for the throw out bearing is 35mm. I sent you a few email's with pics going back a bit and didnt hear back. Maby the pics w...

Re: 1977 GD Galant racecar build.
Its had a basic tune of it runs. Still needs an air leak fixed, thermo fan fitted and the oil cooler and its sready to hit the dyno for it full tune. :D Still got the extractors but you would need to make up a new plate to weld on the top as i cut it off and used it for the turbo manifold. If your s...

Re: Hypereutectic pistons??
Hey fellas, As I have stated many times, I am currently using ACL hypereutectic pistons in my car and I do Have roughly 300rwkw or 388hp in the old speak. In my experience, These pistons do not crack when there is detonation. They melt the edges away - meaning that if you have bad tuning, or someth...

Re: Hypereutectic pistons??
The biggest drawback of adding silicon to pistons is that the piston becomes more brittle as the ratio of silicon is added. This makes the piston more susceptible to cracking if the engine experiences pre-ignition or detonation. The up side being lower thermal expansion and resistance to heat. Look ...

Great with dealing with big heat and load but will crack up in a big way with det.
Good tune and your not going to have a stress with them.
