And Matt......... Starion disc's and calipers should bolt straight on to a scorpion housing, from memory.

Don't quote me on this........But I believe VR4/EVO 123 LSD's are a direct fit.
I haven't looked into this other than to chase some info up on it........
The last scorpion diff I used had a Detroit Locker installed in it...........Don't ask, It cost shitloads!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Lancer drift suspension setup
From my previous experiences.............. If your going to rose joint the castor rods, rose joint the inner end of the control arms and use solid alloy camber top plates with spherical bearings as well. You will also need to cut the tierod adjusters in half and then weld them into a longer sleeve t...

Re: Lancer flares
The old GroupC LB Lancer had 13x8 and 13x9's on it with the little flares. (see bathurst year books for pics) Although the wheel arches and inner guards around the wheel arches had to modified quite a bit, for the ride height it was running. When it was converted to a sports sedan, it was fitted wit...

The White LA 2 door from Newy your talking about is now a bright green rusty heap of shit living under a car cover in meadowbank(sydney).
Still has most of the good Coltspeed gear in it, where it was originally built. But the body is F..KED for less of a better word.

Yeah Carlos is them man for the flairs......about $160.00 a set when i was chatting to him late last year. I have also seen RA40 celica flares used, as well. The front spoiler I used was a copy of the spoiler off the old GroupC LB lancer (check out Bathurst year books 79-83) It looks very similiar t...

Re: Random Lancer pix!
The orange and yellow LB sedan race car is the old Group C race car that raced at bathurst and in the ATCC in the early 80's. The picture shown here has been pinched off the coltspeed website. In that picture, it is in sport sedan setup with 13x10's, motec injected 2.6 etc, etc..... Some pretty cool...

Re: hilux diff questions
Regardless of what you use your going to have get the mounts moved inboard and the stud pattern changed to suit the lancer.
Hilux's are a good all round alternative. good strength, lots of ratios and lsd options and parts are easy to come by.
P.S. RN25 hilux diff is a direct fit to a mk1 escort......

What year model??????????
Owners manual says 2WD 4.222 and 4WD 4.675 only for 86 to 96.
Might have to see what option are available from a pajero and L300 of the same vintage to get what you need.

You'll find 4.222 and 4.675 gears in the back of an early l300's.
Bolt in fit to the 10 bolt scorpion diff.
Do a bit of searching....it has all been covered here before!

Re: LA lancer, whats a good diff upgrade? sigma?.?.?
Scorpion diff is same width as sigma, good ratio choices, light and strong, but f..k all lsd options. I had a mega-dollar detriot locker made for mine. I would put and early hilux in it, for piece of mind....and there's lots of bits available for them. Full floaters, spools, ratio's down to 5.7:1, e...

Re: 2.6 pajero power steering
triton, express, starion..... are a good place to start looking for a steering box that may fit the galant.
You will need the steering box, the lines and a cooler.
BUT......this all depends on whether one of the above steering boxes can be adapted to the galants steering system.
Good luck........

Re: Repco Reliability Trial - 2009 Rerun
I did the Repco Red Centre to Gold Coast rally this time last year, servicing for one of the car in the field. It used a lot of the roads from the original 1979 event. If the level of, history and the quality of the cars and drivers were anything to go by last year, this event should be very good. D...

Re: Balance Shaft Removal: Pros and Cons
Just a couple of quick fact...... The balance shaft turns at twice the speed of the crank. Porsche use the same system in there 944/968 4 cylinder engines (Under Licence from Mitsubishi) E.g. 6000rpm crank speed = 12000rpm balance shaft speed So if you run an Astron to 7500rpm like we do..... You do...

Import scorps (sapparo's) had starion type IRS rear ends in them. I don't know if Aust floor pans have the mounts fitted? If its a 10bolt (2.6L-GH onwards) there are quite a few ratio's available 3.33, 3.55, 3.93, 4.222, 4.675, 4.825. If you have a hunt threw the early to mid 80's Mitsu's (L200, L300,pajero, scorpion, starion) you will find the ratio you need. LSD's will be an issue, Starion and Pajero fit the case, bu...

It will be close..... as Stealth said. We used to run a panhard rod on a scorpion diff and standard fuel tank with out any drama's in my IPRA car. On the old GroupC LB Lancer, they ran at Bathurst and ATCC rounds, The 90L fuel tank is so big, that they solid mounted the tank to the floor and then we...

What are you using the car for?????????? Roadie, dirt or circuit car?????? Me thinks 300lb is a bit light for a circuit car.......... We used 325lb in my 2.6 powered LA,on the street, and anywhere upto 525lb on the circuit, with suitably revalved Koni's. Try some of your suspension places for coilov...
