Re: HEMI26's dB Drag Scorpo
Thats awesome. I would never have considered a Scorpion as an SPL car due to the side windows. In my mind they would flex too much and you would just be wasting energy, so the fact that you are pushing over 147db is a pretty amazing achievement.

That sounds like a Magna wagon to us. Could be either 2nd or 3rd generation as 1996 is when they changed. 2nd gen http://www.shop1auto.com.au/Images%20vehicles/Mitsubishi/Magna_wagon-1995.jpg 3rd gen http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/d/d3/1997_Mitsubishi_Magna_%28TF%29_Executive_station_...

Re: brake cailpers hitting tie rod end!
Not exactly the same parts, but i had the same issue using trying to fit GH Scorp struts into a GD. There was no way the caliper would clear the GD steering knuckle and tie rod end. Solution was to use the GH steering knuckle that came with the struts. These curve downwards more then the Galant ones...

Re: 4G32 Pistons (what do i have?)
4KRY2572 is the part number for ACL pistons to suit a 4g32 chain drive. That would explain the 2572 in the part number, and also that these are not ACL pistons.
The 0.025 number is probably the recommended piston to bore clearance, 0.025mm
Still trying to figure out the rest.

I can confirm the early galant is the same as all wagons thing. I replaced the windscreen in my GC wagon, using a new rubber of that rotary mob on ebay, which was listed as being for a 1600L. The windscreen i used was 2nd hand out of a GD wagon.

Is the flange the same as a Scorp intermediate exhaust section? Could be a bolt on job if it is. Sigma's also use the same flange, however the pipes run horizontal and don't fit. The Scorp ones run vertical and do fit a Galant.

Postage isn't that bad. I bought a 10 bolt lsd through import monster a while back. The shipping and so on was just over $200, plus commission fees, etc. Just did an estimate on this and the total cost with everything included would be around $850 to my door, but would take a month or 2 by sea.

I'm not 100% on it, but from playing around with TN and TP Magnas in the past I do know that the vacuum lines for the charcoal cannister are connected to a switch like this, which is then controlled buy the ecu.

I've heard that too, but I didn't notice any issues with mine having not done it.
For me it was a case of I'll keep an eye on temps, etc and if I have trouble keeping it cool I'll pull the head and do it. Never ended up needing to do it.

Love the exhaust, and the fact it looks so standard on the outside. When I had my GH Sigma with the VR4, the outside was completely stock looking, right down to the dodgy paint and factory wheels. Lots of fun upsetting try hard P Platers at the traffic light grand prix, even more fun when you can he...

Re: GA brake trouble
The problem was in the master cylinder itself. I'm not exactly sure which seal was causing it, but replacing all the seals with new ones in a rebuild kit solved the problem and the brakes worked perfect afterwards. :stupid: I'm sure you and mum used to get sick of all the calls "Come and save ...

Re: GA brake trouble
I had the same problem once in a Scorpion. Exactly the same symptoms. Starts off fine, then the more you drove and used the brake the more they stuck on till basically the car wouldn't move. I would then release one of the bleed valves to release the built up pressure and it would be ok for another ...

I've used coloured cable ties in the past. One around the wire, and the same colour on the sensor, plug, etc that it connects too. Also works for hoses and stuff too. Works well on older cars like ours where there isn't many things to connect, but you will start to run out of different colours fast ...

Re: Help - Durable paint options
I've used POR15 in the past. I'd recommend it highly. It's not UV stable and will fade over time, but in a use like this where it is there to protect the metal and be painted over it would be perfect. KBS Rustseal is an Australian made version that is supposed to work just as good, and cheaper, howe...

Re: sigma into scorpion?
There are some differences, but most are minor and easy enough to get around. Biggest issues would obviously be if the gearbox you intend to use is a Borg Warner. As mention there are differences in the tailshaft, but also in the speedo cable too. On the engine side of things the oil pressure sender...

Re: 6G into a Scorpion?
Toyota auto gearbox with the mitsu bellhousing could definitely be an option. There are a few 1uz pajeros, L200's and so on that all seem to use the 1uz bellhousing which bolts straight onto the standard auto box. If this does work then it would also open up the option of manual boxes like the w58 w...

I've just bought a set of flares of ebay. I was considering the Topstage ZG flares, but was worried they would be too big. Ended up finding a set a lot closer in size, and cheaper too. Hope they are decent quality and fit OK, I'll find out when they get here. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Universal-bol...

Common spots for rust are the bottom of the front guards (like nearly all mitsu's), the bottom of the doors, the rear quarters just below the b pillar vents, and the worst spot is under the windscreen air vent panel, where the passenger side wiper mounts. There may be other spots as well, but these ...

All 10 bolt Scorpion diffs have a 3.3:1 ratio. These are what are factory in the GH and later Scorpions. The GE Scorp has different ratios. The auto has 3.5:1, and the manual has 3.9:1. However these diffs are 8 bolt and are the same size and therefore strength as what comes factory in the Galant an...
