It is a single but with a lot of improvements the test pieces used for modeling easily out flowed a heavily ported head. It still utilizes stock manifolding but all ports have been raised and straightened good news is water still flows through the head so it can be used in multiple applications. Be...

Re: thinking 16v astron head
For sure, the fiddly bits would be the hard part. But send them to china for replication. Bottom end isn't going to be that expensive, rods, pistons, bolts and balancing. Hopefully the magna dizzy would fit ( didn't look where the dizzy went) and can be used as a crank and cam position sensor like I...

Standard crank in mine, been in the engine for over 10 years now. Same set of standard rods to, just 3 sets of pistons. Acl, standards for a while now another set of ACL's.
390hp and 30 psi. No need to overthink these motors. Just be smart with the tuning.

Re: thinking 16v astron head
Seems like a lot of hard work and lots of cash for something that may not work. WHy not put the whole diesel turbo motor in? I know you want to stick to NA, but a turbo would add so much more torque and make for a better tow rig. Or standard motor, flat top pistons and more comp, magna head with inj...

C Pillar trims, I knew there was a better name for it! Wagon bumpers, sedan bumpers. Guards, wagon tailgates. Rust repair sections for the doors. We should approach Phils rotaries who is doing the mazda and aussie car panels. If there was interest, he may do a run of guards and bonnets etc. It would...

Dashpads! They don't just crack, they seem to split in a major way. I'm doing a motor trimming course and recovering dashpads is next year. WE'll see if they can be fixed. I wrecked a few cars and people were after the rear interior side pieces for the rear pillars. They have all crumbled by now. Ha...

I owned it for about 18 months. The guy I bought it off had it for about 3 years. He had bought it off the guy who built it.
Prob worth getting the leaves reset and add an extra leaf. What sort of tramp rods did you get? A 2 link kit or slapper bar type setup?

They changed the way the engineers had to operate and that got rid of all the dodgy engineers and also 3/4 of the good engineers too. The rules and stuff are realtively unchanged but the engineers insurance and the liability has. Basically if anything happens, the engineer is totally liable, the rta...

He told me but I am struggling to remember the name. Something 'performance' and I think it was narellan or campbeltown way. Pretty vague I know.
$1k is much more reasonable. Have you spoke to him about your car?

This is all NSW any way, I know your in QLD Slimer.
Cousin just got a quote to engineer his 13b KE20. $2500.
All of mine were under $500 when I was getting them done. Such a rip

Chuck on a new water pump and then take the radiator to get serviced. Calcium build up and blocked tubes in the core will not get flushed out by running a hose through it till the water is clean. As mentioned before, you must have the thermostat in there. Have you got the original fan and the shroud...

Re: Please help me learn to do timing on G63B!!
Don't worry about the dizzy moving as the gear goes in. Its not meant to be smack bang on the electrode at top dead centre. To really know whats going on, you have to take the rocker cover off and see where the cam dowel pin is. It has to be at the top in the 12 oclock position. Remember, our engine...

What auto box were you going with? My car dropped from 11.9 to an 11.4 when it went from a ford toploader to the powerglide. I now run 10.5 with a 1.48 60 foot. RB25 box is good but the toyota r154 may have been an easier path. There are bellhousings already out there and the r154 with a few mods wi...

Hold up, when the pulley mark is at TDC, and the cam dowel is at the lowest position, it just means you are on the wrong stroke. Rotate the engine one more time and then you should have the pulley on TDC, the cam dowel pin at the 12 o'clock position and then You should check the timing and also chec...

Re: Rotary or CA18DET into 76 Galant Coupe?
DOn't bother with the CA. They are extremely old now and finding a decent one will be hard. They aren't the best motor in the world. People use them in datsuns because legalities stipulate that they can't go 2.0 turbo. Rotaries are awesome but you really have to know what you are doing or you'll hav...

Here is another galant I have owned for about 12 years now. Runs a 2 litre starion motor. Underneath is painted and detailed and there are stacks of pieces that have been chromed. Its been sitting for about 8 years and would need some work to revive. http://gaffamotorsport.com/othercars/DSC03628.JPG...
