Re: Past rides

This is the first car 86 tsi ended up swapping a 1jz into it wth a haltech e11v2 but never finished the swap. Ha...

Re: 1981 sapporo "scorpion" g54bt manual trans conversion.

it's a usdm starion transmission no idea what box that equates too other than its a km132 without the later group a big gears that the 88+ starions got. It's a wideblock. The drveshaft was off one of our american trucks with the 4g63 sohc mid 80s which is a narrow block/ Thiat truck also uses a km13...

Re: 1981 sapporo "scorpion" g54bt manual trans conversion.

well, gear set is back in and everything seemed to check out. I'm now rocking a set of 3.90 gears. Interesting enough the gearset in my old diff was 3.307 which I have never even seen mitsubishi use. I'm going to try and save that gearset. Tomorrow I'll swing by the dmv and get the car licensed then...

not sure on the exact color, but teh guy said it was from a early 90s chrysler. So I figure If you look through a paint book, you could probably find it. It wasnt factory, some guy had this paint and some ugly honda gold and made it a 2 tone.

1981 sapporo "scorpion" g54bt manual trans conversion.

A few pics of the car when I first picked it up this last spring. Been sitting for 10 years. Mice had infested it at one time, water had been sitting in the interior as well. Quite a bit of work ahead of me. Had a g54b auto in it. http://www.nwstarquest.com/project-sapporo/sapporo-02.jpg http://www....

Re: Seat choice

I took some 88 starion seats and threw them in a while back. They didnt fit too well, Mainly they were quite wide. I will be trying some 88 cordia seats here as soon as I get a gearset in the scorp so I can get it out of the garage.

I too am looking for a diff upgrade and thats about all I have access too at the moment. I'm doing a 4g62b sohc tbi turbo swap from a co...

Re: Recommended Turbo for Astron II 2.6L?

I've ran quite a few mitsu turbos on my g54b starion throughout the years. all mitsubishi. All in the td05 .080 housing bored out for a td05h wheel. 18g was slightly lagg, but my favorite turbo Below 2600it was a dog, but by 2800 it felt like a freight train hitting you, and I could turn the tires d...

Re: Shaving the head for more compression on a 4g32b

no one has anythign to say? Talking with charlie the workshop manual on a chain driven engine calls for 1mm off the head and 1mm off the block. I did some measuring and I thikn I will try .040" 1mm off the head and 30 off the block to avoid having to machine the pistonss.

Shaving the head for more compression on a 4g32b

So how much can I take off without running into some timing issues? i'm trying tog et as much compression as I can out of the stock pistons. I plan on getting a cam reground, but it depends on ho much compression i can get out of the engine with just shaving the head down. Right now I am just runnin...

there is a tbi 4g32 turbo in the states in the 84 to I think 87 mirage and colt. It was fwd. Uses basically thesame tbi setup as a starion. Has smaller injectors, a tiny 9b turbo or something like that. I have a turbo setup off one. http://www.nwstarquest.com/4g32tvalvecover.JPG http://www.nwstarque...

Yeah I cant decide. I would like to run the 16x8 0 offset wheels all around, bgut not sure how that will work in the front. Right now im dealing with seized calipers on the stock brakes, and am trinyg to track down starion narrow body stuff.

I could use some help choosing a offset for wheels

So I have 2 options for wheel sizes. I can either do staggered 16x7 +15 and 16x8 0 or straight 16x8 0 offset all around. I was just curious if i cna even fit a 0 offset 8inch wide wheel up front?

Re: need some urgent advice on going EFI and some other mods.

sidedrafts would make more power than a stock efi setup I think considering they flow quite a bit better, Fuel economy, tuning, and the price would be more though. The water passage on the intake side of a early head is small and rectangular vs the magna head which is large. You could make an adapat...

I wanted to see if anyone is interested in this. It's quite a upgrade from the stock drums on a early galant. This setup is designed to bolt onto a 74 galant rear live axle. Basically it adapts flat body starion rear disc brakes inplace of your old drums. I currently have one set on my 74 galant cou...
