Your very welcome to bring a Mk1 2door Escort with a factory Cosworth motor should you have space in your carry on bag. ;-)

Enjoy your time away. :)

Might be worth starting a build thread so well can follow your progress and help out if you get stuck. Old cars have a habit of making you scratch your head from time to time. ;)

Welcome. :)

Motors look the same from the outside and mount in all the same places.

Take it in. Get it inspected and drive it home.

Re: 4g63 gearbox options

7 bolt crank is easy. L300 4g63 8v motor. You can tell the 7 bolt motors by there thermostat housing being held on by 4 bolts not 3. If it was me I'd save my self the BS of an engine rebuild and run a stock narrow block motor. Dellow also make custom bell housings I believe but they sting the wallet...

Re: 4g63 gearbox options

Narrow block sounds the easy option to me. I ran a stock jap box for a while and it did not let go. Do that till you decide what diff box combo you want. Then pull all the parts together over time while still enjoying the car. Stealth does BW78 diffs that are bolt in. Maby PM him. As for supra boxes...

Re: 4g63 gearbox options

Hey Nick. Welcome to SG ;-) lol. I'm running a W55 ATM. It fits in the manual tunnel without mods and if you can get hold of Bill Hitcher and his bell housing kit, go's together with amazing ease. Happy to give you a few pointers in regard to a super easy hydraulic clutch mod to. Save you some upsid...

Pump E85 once the new motor goes in. Just so much nicer on cast pistons.

Re: Electric Fuel Pumps

As long as the fuel is clean they go for ages. Being low pressure they don't suffer the load and wear an EFI pump does. Also a car by motor won't cut out like an EFI one as the fuel bowl will slowly drop fuel mixture as the fuel level drops. More of a slow loss of power till cut out.

Re: conversions for 4g63 85 L200 ?

5-10psi will liven up the car heaps and should be fine as is. You should not even need to lift the head at all. You will need to run 98 fuel however. Power wise you should see 120-140rwkw. Almost twice what you have now.

Re: conversions for 4g63 85 L200 ?

Or you could boost the motor/head combo you have and make make twice the power. SOHC turbo parts are common and will be cheap if you take your time. Twin cam IMO is not needed when a single can do 200kwatw. More than I would recommend for your gearbox. ;)
