Wheelbase

Hi guys was just wondering if some people could do me a favour. I wanted to know if the wheel base of GC/GD 4 doors were the same as the 2 doors? Would assume so but wondering if someone could please check :) I just measured my GC 4 door at 2415mm and width (from flare of guards approx) 1620mm Cheer...

At what km' would you rebuild?

Hey guys just after some advice. After how many km would you rebuild your engine? Would it matter if it was a turbo or not (specifically 4g63t if anyone knows). How many km does your engine have on it? Would you replace turbo first? I do realise it depends on the engines life and how hard its been t...

Re: Prevent me from doing something stupid

Hi mate, hope you got the suspension setup sorted.
Kind of want to hijack your thread a bit here and ask, where did you get the flares and would they suit sedan?
Would be very interested in a set if they do.

Re: How much over standard piston can I go

If you want numbers to match, get a 2.6, shave it until no numbers are left and re stamp it.......not unheard of.
I know of a "1.6" litre that looked a lot like a 4g54 once upon a time.

Re: 4g32 with KM132 what clutch?

4speed and 5 speed (narrow jap) are the same yolk spline. I had a 4 speed in my GC and changed it to the jap narrow. I used 4G32 flywheel and clutch and the same tail shaft. Only difference was that shifter was a bit further back in floorpan and cross member had to be moved back one lot of bolt spac...

Just FYI, the starion LCA gave me 2.8 degrees and 3.2 degrees neg camber (driver, passenger)

Wouldnt mind a link to those generic ones you bought as I want to turn mine back to around 2 degrees

Re: Drift gb

If you want camber, either adjustable strut tops or get LC Lancer engine cross member and then starion lower control arms this will give you neg camber. I have starion LCA in my LC and have 2.8 degreese, so in a GB (which from memory is skinnier) you should get a bit more). If you want EFI get TN/TP...

Re: 2.6L LC Rally car finally running :D

Dyno run didnt do power runs because it was running very lean and the oil light flickered on a few times (but its set to 20psi, and it was only a flicker) so guy didnt want to run it too long so will go back and get power figures. Had 88hp at wheels but that was no where near full throttle. Very tai...

Re: Galant vs. Lancer vs. Sigma 5 speed gearboxes

Interesting questions mate, wish I could help. I put a narrow block 5 speed in my GC and apart from moving the gearbox mount back (as everyone here says is the standard modification) I also needed to chop a bit of my floor to make the shifter fit through and I didnt think this was the case unless it...

Re: 2.6L LC Rally car finally running :D

So it was parked in the driveway last night, came out this morning to find half a gearbox worth of oil under neath it and streaming down the drive....appeared to be coming from the back of the gearbox where the tail shaft goes in......how do I fix that? Is there a seal somewhere in there that needs ...

Yes it possible.
Decide what car is going to be used for as that may mean changing struts and other bits and pieces.
If you just want Coilovers, here is a link to weld on kits from a place in Sydney.

Re: 2.6L LC Rally car finally running :D

Yea its great to finally get it running again. Next event planned is full rally on 28th July at Johns River (Taree). No I dont think they were glowing haha. Oil pressure was good, idle dropped a bit low so I turned the screw a bit so sits nicely at 900-1000rpm now and around 25-30psi. Getting up it,...

2.6L LC Rally car finally running :D

Finally got my LC lancer up and running. Was checked over by the mechanics after I did all the work and got ticks all round there except for needed a bit more grease in some ball joints. Went to get run in on the dyno and was running very lean, turned out that when I sent the manifold, injectors and...

Re: LA to LB,LC and the rest

BIG26L is on the money. LA lancers are different to the others in spring diameter due to a skinnier strut tower. They share the same 4bolt pattern on the strut top as other lancers though. So If you have a LB hatch (not coupe, some ppl here will get on your back about that) with green strut's from a...

Didnt fill it to the brim, just until it was starting to leak back out the filler hole. I did have to change the throw out bearing collar (thing that it sits on, if thats what you call it), but only because someone had put a modified one in there (it had an extra sleeve welded on it, so it would fit...

Re: lower control arms

Awesome...where did you get those from?
When I put my LC on the ground it is now running some serious neg camber (bit much for tally, probably around 2.5-3 degree at a guess) so looking for strut tops to bring them back a little.

2 options, make a surge tank and run factory magna pump in the surge tank, this has a lift pump and high pressure one all in one...or make a surge tank and run an after market lift pump and high pressure one. If your pistons are dished then comp will be a little lower, if pistons are flat top then c...

Is it a 2.6L head or 2L head?
I know the 2L head can run the standard size valves from the 2.6L's, which is 3mm bigger for that head.

Re: sigma tr magna conversion help/advice anyone???

Will also depend what gearbox you want to run as to what block you run. If you want a wideblock gearbox then you will need a wide sigma/scorpion block. (factory manual blocks...these are generally stronger gearboxes, can also use Starion gearboxes) If you want a narrow block gearbox (4 speed or narr...

Did use the search button and found your post astronturbo77 and it was very good thankyou. It does say there you will need a clutch and flywheel if converting from an auto, but the gearboxes come from two different motors one a 1.6L and one a 2L, does not say which flywheel is needed. I assumed the ...

Get LC cross member and GJ everything else. Mate just finished conversion in his 2.6L GA and it works.
Note Radius rod mounts need modifying and moving about 60mm further foward.
