Re: Dash Alternator warning light ?

PS the factory manual also warns you that in testing the OEM ammeter not to let more than 1 amp in current pass through it indicating the shunt resistor is externa; to the meter somewhere in the wiringh harness. I have never been able find a seperate shunt resistir on the circuit or wiring diagrams...

Re: Dash Alternator warning light ?

That explains the light bulb under my bonnet that has been puzzling me for yonks! My ammeter hasn't worked in the entire 22 years I've had the LC, and I finally got another one a week ago and now you tell me I should get something else ;-) Damn! If the ammeter doesn't work it might be interesting t...

Re: Removing door window chrome

as far as i can see it in the parts catalogue there is 1 clip at the aft part and 2 or 3 flange nuts on the moulding. I never removed them myself but I guess you have to remove the clip and then try to pull the strip upwards, out off the nuts. Hopefully they aren't glued on as A57C said...

new Dutch Mitsu Classic car parts forum

Hi The owner of the Dutch Mitsubishi Celeste Club asked me if i could put up this link for him: http://mitsubishi.forumsmotion.com. This is a new forum about Mitsubishi Classic cars. All the different models have their own section in which you can buy/sell/search for parts. Feel free to have a look!...

Re: How to identify the type of motor?

Even easier way to distinguish between the '52 and the '63 engines are the 4G52's have an alloy timing cover (and individual inlet runners on the inlet manifold) for chain drive and the 4G63's have a plastic cover for the timing belt (and paired inlet runners on the inlet manifold) 4G52 inlet manif...

Re: How to identify the type of motor?

Hi! Normally, on the right hand forward side of the engine, close to the waterpump, there is a small rectangular sticking out of the engine block. On there you can find the engine code: G32 if you have a 4G32 engine and under that you have the engine serial number. 4G52 and 4G63 are both 2 liter eng...

Re: 87 FWD 4g32 into 78 LC lancer

FYI, In Australia your car would be a LB, LC's were only available in the hatchback shape. LA's had the "horse shoe" style tail lights. For some reason the LB was available in sedan and hatch shape, which to my eye look like two very different cars. That difference is maybe why we in Belg...

Re: 87 FWD 4g32 into 78 LC lancer

4G52 is a 2 liter engine yes. You can normally bolt it in straight away. I know that because the LB/LC lancer hatchbacks use them also. The hatches and "normal" Lancers are quite similar cars...

Re: 4g32 to 4g63

In my Celeste (lancer hatchback) i did this conversion. To make sure it fits perfectly i used the mounts of the 4g63 (from 2nd gen Saporro/Scorpion). I can't remember it that well but i think they were a little bit higher or lower than the ones from the 4g32. The engine fits like a glove on the gear...

This one has the "Arrow"-decal on the hood so that's only on the 2600 (or Fire Arrow)...

of course you can't tell if the decal isn't put on it afterwards or the engine hasn't been swapped or so...
pity you can't see the engine that well...

Re: Mitsubishi Lancer 1600 GSR rally spec engine

What I found in the manual of the Celeste is that the difference between the 4G52 (single carb) and the 4G52GS (twin carb) is that: - compression ratio: 8.5 - 9.5 (GS) - exhaust valves of a GS has stellite hardened valve seats - GS has different valve springs (brown enamelled); 4g32 has blue ones - ...
