Re: 4g54 build questions? all advice welcome!

im selling an engine, ready to go. capable of a comfortable 250+ rwkw.

if your only wanting 10 psi, a dead stock sigma engine will take it all day. my original stocker ran 18psi &210kw for years

Re: ute vs sedan crossmember

hmm ok, cheers. i knew tritons were, but thought l200's were based on sigma wagons.

the scorp lives to sit in the garage a little longer, i bought a cheap AU falcon traytop instead.
going to put in a BA engine (its original engine threw a rod) and probably turbo it later down the track.

Re: ute vs sedan crossmember

just re-read this and had a dick moment, i meant an 82 L200 not a 92 Triton.
not sure what i was thinking at the time. looking at a L200 on gumtree to put the modified power steer/nissan front end into.

lost motivation on the scorpion and need a ute more than a track car

Re: 4G54 Head Gasket for turbo

i used a $25 cheapo headgasket with my turbo build, was running 18psi and making over 200 rwke for about 20,000km and showed no signs of damage when pulled down.
the pistons however were in several pieces.

Re: New 4G54 Turbo EFI build for Siggy

what size and trim wheels are in them? that will make a big difference. generally speaking theyll probably be similar. if theyre cheap chineese turbos theyre probably the same turbo with different housings is it a base spec GT3071 or GT3037/GT3076 and what housing on the back of each? again, makes b...

Re: Programming a stock ECU

generally the older style ecus are built using single write chips. so once programmed cannot be re-programmed without replacing the chip. although some ecus have a second socket for another chip, so you can put in a new chip with a custom tune on it. some have FLASH roms, which are erased with a UV ...

Re: VTEC fitted into a galant

also its helpful to know that most of the earlier (Pre 2000) honda engines all spin the opposite direction of normal cars, meaning theyre totally useless to mate with a non honda gearbox unless you want 5 speeds in reverse.

they never had great geometry anyway. lowering them though will make them handle much better. the stock center of gravity sucks so the lower you get it the better, add more castor and camber and youll easily end up with more front grip than rear when turning in. but likely also get some understeer u...

you need to find/make custom steering linkage
be a little creative with the sump to crossmember/steering clearance. but if i dont it again id lower the xmember another 5mm

why not run it straight to the engine with a inline tap in the engine bay.
i did that for one of my cars for years, leave it open in winter and off in summer.
