Re: 2.8L Astron. TURBO or NA?
I want that crank! It only cost $300 to get the crank ground. 2.8 is pretty huge for turbo, unless you want super crazy boost power N/A would still be amazing in a 2.8.if it was me i would go n/a as i love the sound of twin side draughts and if your just using it for casual driving to turn heads it...

2.8L Astron. TURBO or NA?
Just got my crank back for my 2.8L Astron and I'm trying to decide whether to go turbo or not. http://users.tpg.com.au/backman/SG/STROKER/STROKE-01.jpg It currently weighs 17.6kg I'll be using the Arrow 6.4" rods which weigh 529g, the standard 6.535" rods are 830g. As you can see from the ...

i had to do the same. took about 30 secs It took me quite a bit longer, still waiting on my workshop to be built so I only had a hacksaw, a few files and a dremel. PS: when starting the car (if you have hydraulic rockers) make sure the rocker cover is on. I forgot about the oil bleeders in the rock...

Re: fuel pump cut out switch?
HoonBoy, correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought a "Tachometric relay" works off the coil signal, and is used in vehicles on LPG to kill the gas flow when the engine isn't running but the ignition is on. Exactly - which is what you want (ie. when the engine stops running, the fuel stops pu...

TR/TS Magna oil pump Install.
When you install the later Magna oil pumps, one thing you have to do is modify the front timing cover. The oil pump has a "silent shaft" chain tensioner which will hit on the webbing on the oil pump side of the timing cover. If you removed the tensioner and plugged the oil hole, you probab...

Tachymetric relay, it's designed for what you want and used in LPG setups. Either an auto electrician or LPG installer will have one. HoonBoy, correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought a "Tachometric relay" works off the coil signal, and is used in vehicles on LPG to kill the gas flow when t...

PS: My GN Wagon has a Holley 280 which runs VERY rich on idle :$ Found out today why I could smell un-burnt petrol while I was idling (that is why I thought it was running rich). The jets are 135 and 220 One thing to be careful of is someone may have "drilled out" your idle jets. Can you get hold of another set of jets and compare them? REMEMBER, the Idle circuit is active even when the main jets kick in. You have to tune the Idle first before you tinker with the ...

i was told that you can still use the ecu but use resistors in the injector harness? is this okay to do? NO...... If you put a resistor in line with the low impedance injector, it would act more like a high impedance injector (ie: it would take longer to switch on) or not switch on at all. High Imp...

How much do you reckon the shaft has been lengthened under the pivot point ? I'm in Brisbane ATM, When I get back, I'll remove it and take a few pics. How thick is the spacer under the pivot point There isn't a "Spacer". He has raised the pivot point AND lengthened the shaft under the pivot point. how long is the throw from 1st to 2nd ? 8cm The shifter isn't a standard shifter that has been modified, they are built from scratch. Cheers.

Re: !!!! Heater/fan blows fuse whenever used !!!!
Most likely the electric motor is stuffed because: 1. The bearings are stuffed, not letting the armature spin freely. 2. There is some debris in the fan stopping it spinning . 3. The commutator's all clagged up causing a direct short across several of the windings. 4. Some of the windings have short...
