Re: Fueling issues 4g52 swapped MD l200

Cheers for the advice, you were correct! It was a dud pump! I bit the bullet and got a brand new pump off the shelf. $95 later and the old ute was running like a champ. I was mislead by the old pump as everything worked off an auxiliary tank. Funny side note, after I got it running I excitedly got e...

Re: Fueling issues 4g52 swapped MD l200

Cheers for the reply, Yeah I found a filter at the tank end, I bypassed it to eliminate in case it was faulty. Bought a new one, yet to put it on. It's a mechanical fuel pump that runs off the cam, the original pump was shot so I replaced it with one off a 4g54, physically it looked identical to wha...

Fueling issues 4g52 swapped MD l200

G'day all. I have just completed a 4g52 engine swap into an old nugget MD L200 which had a toasted g63. However, I have run into issues with fuel supply that are really starting to annoy me. The problem- I cannot for the life of me get fuel flowing from the tank and the car will not run. Everything ...

Re: 4g63 g/box onto 4g52?

Been pretty busy lately but uni is finished and so the engine went in! Could've done with an extra pair of hands but I had to solo it! I have everything bolted up and put back together apart from a few things. Does anyone know what the polarity of the 2 wires coming off of a 4g52 distributor? My eng...

Re: 4g63 g/box onto 4g52?

Thanks heaps for the help, I really appreciate it. Would have been pretty shitty to find that out during the swap. Just to clarify, do you mean the input and output diameter and spline count? Or do you mean longer shafts? I'm a little confused as you mention I can reuse the clutch. Just confirming- ...

Re: 4g63 g/box onto 4g52?

Thanks for the info! Appreciated :) I've looked up a lot of threads and double checked part numbers etc. To get this old bomb going again I'm gonna go ahead with an auto 4g52 from a GJ sigma and keep the 5 speed. As far as a basic swap list, I can think of: - spigot bearing suited for the 4g52, shou...

4g63 g/box onto 4g52?

Howdy all, I recently bought a dud MD l200 with a seized 4g63 (double rectangle headlights, unsure year). I measured the lower bolt spacing on the 5-speed which came in at 310 mm, so that makes it a narrow block. I could either pull the box and convert my other l200 from column shift 4-speed to a 5-...

Re: new l200 owner + a few questions

Cheers for the replies guys. I must have mistaken the sigma's for the l300s. And further searching on ebay found various bits and pieces parts and the like.

Let the project begin haha.

Thanks again. Ed.

new l200 owner + a few questions

G'day all, thought I'd sign up to this forum in the hopes of finding some more info about my car and perhaps have a geeze at some common mods and builds people have done. I also have a few questions that I can't seem to find answers to. About my car: I'd been on the look out for a ute for a while an...
