Re: New project brings lots of questions, help please

I under stand what your saying about just going 2.6 efi but that's by why I bought this car at all. This car will be turbo. And I don't really see the thrill in trying to beat a stock commodore v6 Thanks for those comp ratios but really need to know what comp I will get if I use my 2.0 block with ef...

Ignore the balance shaft question, sorted that out and ordered a kit today for $25 from work.

Really need to know about the head and compression issues though

Ahhh ok... is there any coating you can put on the stainless manifold to make it any better?
Will that cast manifold be any issue at all having the flange on a different angle?

Re: Whats needed to go EFI?

From what ive gathered/seen, just need to chop off the throttle body, weld up a plate where it was, cut off the other end, and put it there instead. And then move the thermostat to the front as well

Re: Whats needed to go EFI?

Yeah its a mint idea, i still plan on doing it. My plans have been put back a bit further but still in the back of my mind.
Will be dropping the whole EFI motor in with stock ecu to start with, then get turbo setup happening down the track a bit.

Re: Whats needed to go EFI?

Hmmmmm well if its seriously that low thats pretty damn low.... however i havnt got plans to use this car on the road, more of a track car/toy, as i cant afford 3 regos and insurances lol. I spose dropping the whole magna motor in would be an option, but what would need to be changed to convert to R...

Re: Whats needed to go EFI?

Yeah thanks mate, would be handy to know the compression ratios.
I would like to stick with standard ECU if possible and try and tune between myself and a guy i know who tunes. Cause spending $1000 on a car thats worth about $500 doesnt really appeal to me at this stage... lol

Re: Whats needed to go EFI?

Thanks mate, yeah it would be just a side project so wouldnt be in a hurry at all. Any idea on compression figures? As i plan to go turbo with it down the track, as low comp motor would be more suited to boost? Or would it be tooooooo low compression? Fuel pump shouldnt be an issue at all. Does any ...

Whats needed to go EFI?

Hey guys, interested in starting a new side project. Been thinking about converting a siggy which i havnt got yet, to EFI and then down the track turbo EFI. Would prob be looking at a GJ/GK sigma.
