I had run the chain and also the dizzy with a single bosch coil. More than 330hp and 30psi on that setup. I then changed to a little more compression, individual coils, still using the magna dizzy for cam and crank signals and it makes 390hp now.
You do need an adjustable cam gear though.

Re: 5 stud options for GA/GB?
Hey Simon,
Do you have any pictures by any chance? Never heard of this setup but it sounds interesting.
Was it for the GH style strut or the later 2 bolt model?
Is there something special about the drum hubs?

Re: E85 turbo carb
I think the only way I would run e85 these days is if I had an ECU with the flex fuel sensor. Fill it up when you are racing it and then you can put normal fuel back in it afterwards and the computer sorts itself out. Haltech elite but they are expensive Run 98 all the time, set the boost, mixtures ...

Re: E85 turbo carb
Factory turbo Sigma's don't use an intercooler. These engines are not massively high in compression so it will be fine. Especially an Astron 1 motor. You should concentrate more on making sure it's tuned properly both timing and fuel mixture wise. I ran a 2.6 with twin carbs, t04 turbo on about 20ps...

Re: Identifying: "Jap" or borg Warner box & Wide Vs. Narro
Bumping this thread up. Does anyone know if the box is the same between the wide and narrow borg warners?
For example, If I have a borg warner box can the bellhousings can be interchanged between wide and narrow?

Re: 2.6 Turbo EFI Ecu conversion
I run a Microtech LT10s with individual coils. 30psi and almost 400hp. Has run perfectly for more than 10 years. These days, I reckon a Haltech is the way to go. Elite 750 or 1000 with e85 flex fuel sensor and be done with it. I do agree with the commodore 64 being the best. Bit hard to mount under ...

Re: GD galant turbo engineering.
These days it can be done. Just have to talk to a few engineers. There are guidelines but they can go outside them if they are happy to.
They will generally look at the whole car as a package, brakes, diff etc.

Re: TUFSIG, GK Sigma GSR 2.6 EFI Turbo
Not sure if you have pulled the car apart yet but if she is still blowing smoke after a turbo rebuild, check the size of the hole in the oil supply fitting. The turbo may be getting too much oil and it forces it past the seals. Check the drain is big enough too. Some turbo's only need 1-2mm for the ...

I'm sure he wouldn't muck around if it wasn't worthy. I guess I just don't have much faith in them after a mate of mine had an expensive C4 behind his 20b (8 Second car) and it kept breaking over and over. Was a well known builder too.

I have a T04E with a 58mm front wheel. 30psi boost on C16 388hp at the wheels. That is through an auto and that turbo is 15 years old.
T04Z would do the job better.

I'm coming but the wagon doesn't look like it will make it. Brake lights are not working, as is the horn and half the dash lights. Fuses ok, so something major has happened.
I'll be along, I'll see if one of my mates will take me in something interesting.

Re: Jordan Diff thread questions :P
Yeah a fabricated 9 inch, billet axles, alloy centre etc will be a fair bit.
A normal 9 inch with billets and cut down to your width will be about $3k I reckon. Depends what you start with, what type of centre, etc.
Shop around, a borg warner/hilux conversion won't be that much cheaper.

Re: Jordan Diff thread questions :P
I have a 9 inch with billet axles in my galant. It's nice knowing I never have to worry about it. They aren't much bigger than a borg warner in physical size so that is not really a reason not to get one. In addition, you can get fabricated housings rather than a ford one and aluminium centres whcih...

I should be in for most dates at this stage. Lots of good ideas, maybe we should bank them and do a cruise every 2nd month or something like that. It's unlikely to be perfect for everybody so we can do a few different things and changeup the meeting points. Cruises to Harry's at Liverpool are good a...
