Re: LA Lancer Rebuild (Deux)

I'd be keen to see your final setup - I've got a set of 42mm webbers on a 4g32 - I've got some filter socks on them but want to change that - I'm northside brisbane.

re: boyracer

Hey Guys - does anyone know how to get in contact with Boyracer (Jerry) - I've got a contact number but it's no longer current - they (he and his Dad) had a big stock of cars but seem to have stopped posting so I'm wondering if they are still in Lancers or have moved on.

thanks

Re: Dash pad cure?

How long has it been since you rubberised the dash? I've had a few things that have been coated with rubberised paint and they've all gone 'funky' (a couple of aftermarket PS2 controllers, spoke inserts on a sports steering wheel) The coating has degraded and gotten sticky - really nasty. That is a...

Re: Dash pad cure?

I repaired mine. After a fruitless search for a new one (or at least better one) I ended up sending my dash to a crowd (down south) that could supposedly repair anything - originally gave me a quote of $650(ex) based on a photo (actually a few with a lot of detail) but when they got the dash changed...

Re: A53 16L

I had a look at the number on my car it's A52 H0114885 - does this mean it's an earlier model or differnet engine size?

Re: A53 16L

are you sure there was only 5 brought in - I have one that was suppose to be Australian delivered - it's been a rally car for 95% of it's life - I bought it in 1990 - off a guy that had it for 14 years - it's in the stable to be rebuilt at some point in the future - can post up pictures so you know ...

Re: Brand new 4G32 DOHC engine

Does the engine even run? does it need to be stripped & rebuilt? - no matter how well it's been sealed it could still be full of rust. You could pay $5000 for a boat anchor as you suddenly discover the need for a component which can't be replaced. It would be ideal for a car we are close to fini...

Re: Fibreglass Lancer panels

I've got the moulds but I'm not interested in making sets off them (but someone else could) - I own a manufacturing company and we used to have a big Fiberglass section but I closed down that part of the business (actually moved it to the US) - at one point I got the guys to make me a set of moulds ...

Re: ga /gb coupes

I've got one - the car in the photo (that's it's log book) - it's about to undergo a full restoration (starting at Christmas once the lancer is finsihed) and maybe have it on the road again. It's a GA 2 door and it's even rarer than an A73 2 Door - but if you had one of those I'd talk about selling!...

Re: NEW TOP STRUT MOUNTS AND COUPE REAR RUBBERS.. EOI PLEASE.

Yep I agree that's crap - we have a manufacturing business in Australia (brisbane) & Texas (Austin) (www.touchmate.com.au) and we move a lot of stuff back and forth and I have never heard of this and we pretty much only use FEDEX and have been doing that for 5 years. It may be different for indi...

Re: Galant Hardtop and GTO Owners Register.......

as a continuation: I would consider putting the car back together for the road - but when we gutted it I stripped out all the windows & chrome trim & dash etc so unless anyone had a good idea where I could get those sort of parts it's not going to see the light of day as a street car again. ...

Re: Galant Hardtop and GTO Owners Register.......

Well to the puritan it will probably bring a tear to your eye... Originally when I got the car it was a very grunty rally car - factory LSD - 4g32 - twin Webbers, no 5 cam etc - a very nice car that was (very fast) and surprisingly straight. I raced the car in a few rallies - but that did not really...

Re: Lancer Flares

I've got a lancer which we are rebuilding - as a part of the rebuild I'm building a new set of flare moulds (same as on the purple 2 door) - I'm not sure about those, but most of these flares are crap, they come out of one mould and are not correctly symetrical for the front/rear & left /right, ...

Re: la lancer rally comp and modifications questions

Hey, if you are in Brisbane you might want to come and have a look at my LA lancer - it's a rally car and is undergoing a bare metal ground up rebuild - lots of good gear in it i.e. Full KCF cage, Webbers, No 5 cam, 1776 motor, 4.6 lsd, koni suspension etc - will be immaculate from top to bottom - w...
